  1. I lost 15 pounds while in nursing school. I think it had to do with exercising I was doing to deal with the stress. I have kept up with exercising at least 3 times a week, every week. Sometimes I say I'll do it more, but I don't usually go through with it. But 3 times a week has become a regular part of my life, like brushing one's teeth. I also try to eat healthy, but don't deny myself anything. This helps in not obsessing about food.
  2. Me too! :smiley_aa :thankya: I wish there was a way though to find out by what margin. And I wish we didn't have to pay, but oh well! :chuckle
  3. So I took the test 7/11. Is it a bad sign if you think the test wasn't so hard and you felt like you weren't guessing on most questions?? Maybe I'm TOO confident, but I was expecting the test to shut off at 75. It ended up going all the way to 221. And I KNOW I got the last question wrong. I thought the 1st 75 weren't so bad. (It did get harder in the end, but I think this was partly due to being sick of answering the questions!) There were only 2 diseases which I've never heard of, I was expecting way more. Oh, after reading this board, I was expecting herbal questions, which I got maybe 2. One of them was hard because it was asking about specific herbs and drug interactions which I didn't know. I studied for 3 weeks. I took like 10 Mosby CAT tests and got 99% for most of them - although usually up to 1/3 of the questions were repeats. Agh! Oh, and I am in the bottom of my class! With a 3.8+ average, I'm in the bottom of my class!
  4. I can SO empathize with everyone here! I take my test next week! This is the first time I'm hearing about herbal questions. How would you study for these? I haven't seen anythinng related to this in any of the review books. Anyway, good luck to everyone about to take the test! And to those who are waiting, I hope you don't have to wait too long!
  5. Can someone please tell me about this online Chemistry class that TWU offers? Do you have to be a student or admitted into the program in order to take it? How many semesters is it? Does it cover both inorganic and organic? Are there pre-req's? So many questions! Thanks!
  6. I've heard something recently, but don't know if it's true and was wondering what y'all thought. I've heard that working in anesthsia causes health problems down the road. Is this true? What kinds of problems?
  7. I did not have to take Chem as part of my undergrad. Are you aware of any more CRNA schools that don't require Chem?
  8. How hard was it for you to get good letters of recommendation if you weren't at your unit for long at time of app? Did you feel resentment from co-workers who knew you were looking at CRNA schools?
  9. Is there anything that does prepare you for CRNA? Like something that can show you'll be good at it?
  10. I thought CRNA schools did not look favorably at community college courses, am I mistaken? May I ask which school you got into? Congrats!
  11. I see that most schools require a class in Organic Chem. Since I haven't taken a Chem class, this means 3 Chem classes (Chem I & II, & O) :stone . Unless - can you take O-Chem or Biochem without taking Chem I & II? I am a new grad starting in the ICU . How possible is it to learn to be an ICU nurse and take all these Chem classes all in 1 year ?
  12. In order to get into CRNA school, all schools require a minimum of 1 year ICU experience. Are most people actually ready for CRNA school after only 1 year? Do people with only 1 year experience get rejected their first application?
