Moving to WA after graduating from ADN program in MN
Hi guys and gals! My name is Amy, and I'm am living in Minnesota right now. I'm starting an ADN program in fall 2014, and will graduate in May 2016. My dad owns a very successful masonry company in Washington state (my hometown) and is ready to retire within the next year or 2. He wants my husband to take over the business at that time. This is really exciting for us! Anyways, I know how impossible it is to relocate while in the middle of a nursing program, so I plan to finish this one in Minnesota and move to Washington right after graduation. My question is, what state should I take the NCLEX? And what extras (if any) do I need to know before transferring states? Is anyone familiar with this process? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

PAX Test locked Up During Testing (anyone else?)
I was in the middle (well, actually the end) of taking my PAX RN exam for the first time yesterday when all of a sudden, it locked up. I was in the last section, Science- question #47, with 30 minutes left. The proctor tried to get my test to reopen for me, but it said it was expired. She told me not to worry and that this had happened before. All she had to do was contact NLN and within 24-48 hours they would hopefully respond and unlock my test so I could finish it at a later date. Apparently I won't have to take the entire thing over again which is FANTASTIC! However, I am completely frustrated. I had been expecting all of this test anxiety to be over last night. I go on my honeymoon this weekend and was really looking forward to the test being behind me. I have been studying intensely for a month. I was so nervous during the test yesterday, and now it's like I am completely STUCK in test-taking mode. I went in feeling confident and prepared, but now I am pretty discouraged after completing most of the test. I feel OK about how I did on the Math and Reading portions, although I had run out of time so had to guess on some questions at the last minute. But the Science had me floored! I mean, what the heck? How are people supposed to know all that, and where the heck do you even get that information? It's not in the guide! So I guess there is a positive side to all of this. At least it will give me a chance to brush up on all this science that I have no clue on before I finish the last 30 minutes of the science portion. Has this happened to anyone else? Where you able to finish no problem and did you lose any time? I hope they didn't take away any of my minutes on the clock because those are precious to me!! Sorry for the long vent, but for some reason I am really bothered by this and my anxiety is through the roof. Thanks in advance for your replies. :)

PAX-RN Pre-Entrance Exam.
Thank you so much for your reply! I guess I'm not all that nervous because I have studied quite a bit and I kinda just have this attitude that I am going to kick butt! I feel that if you prepare yourself and have a positive attitude, things will work in your favor. But there's always just this little uncertainty in the back of my mind. You helped me squash it! I take it Wednesday. I will report back here with my scores. Thanks again! Oh, have you been accepted into a nursing program yet?

PAX-RN Pre-Entrance Exam.
Anyone? I've searched the forums to try and find the answers I was looking for, and while I did find some good info, I was hoping to get some responses from those of you who have taken this test more recently. And I was also curious how you were scoring in the book/cd on practice tests. I guess I'm getting sort of nervous ; 3 days.
- Passed CNA!

PAX-RN Pre-Entrance Exam.
Hello all! I have been lurking around this board for quite some time now, and thought I would give my first post a try since you all are so helpful. My question was on the PAX-RN pre-entrance exam. I am scheduled to take it this Wednesday. I am not overly worried because I got the Review Guide book that NLN sells and have been through it front to back. I have also taken all of the practice tests in the book as well as the timed tests on the CD-ROM. Even though I have never taken Chemistry, Physics, or Biology, and have been out of high-school for 12 years, I am still scoring an 80-95% on the science portion tests. I even score that well on the math tests while timed (math is not my strength, however that guide has been a great review and has helped me very much). Normally I am strongest in reading comprehension and vocab, however I am scoring just under 80% for that portion. I have made flash cards for the roots/prefixes mentioned in the book to try out this weekend and see if it helps. So basically, I just wanted to hear from those of you ladies and gentleman that have taken the Pax, and also studied the book. What were your scores? How well does that book actually help your score? And how well should I be doing on these practice tests in order to do well on the actual test? My school requires a 105 composite score for consideration of your application. I would really like to get higher than that. I currently have a 4.0, but I want all the ammo I can get. Any insight would be immensely appreciated. Thanks a bunch! -Amy
