I'm in the residency program at Tacoma General and I like it so far. It's 12 weeks so it is kind of fast-paced, but I think that's a good thing! It is full time didactic training, so you will have classes and unit days during the week, but will not exceed 40 hrs/week. I'm in the NICU and I think my educator is really helpful and my preceptors are great. The staff really try to match your personality with the right preceptor.

What unit? I think the interviews are very different depending on the unit. For example my interview in the nicu was about 1.5 hours.

Actually I don't know if my PM actually went through either haha. I was born on Molokai, but I've been living on Oahu longer! It's so nice to have met 2 people from Hawaii already! I have so many questions about the program since my interview is coming up next week! I have an interview in the 3rd week of April for the NICU. I'm from out of state and I'm really concerned about relocating just a couple weeks before the start date. I'm looking into apartments right now, does anybody know any good places to live near Tacoma General?

I received the email to interview on Jan 9 and I had to reply to the email by the next day to accept. I was shocked I even got an interview since I was from out-of-state with no NICU experience, I wish I started my endorsement app earlier. Do you happen to know how many new grads are in your cohort?

Did anyone from out-of-state get offers? I received the offer to interview in the critical care track, but wouldn't be able to get my license endorsed to WA in time. I just wanted to see what my chances are for applying in the next cohort, I need some motivation haha.

No interview yet, still waiting! But I didn't get an email from Grossmont yet either, hopefully they will notify us soon!

I also applied both times but for Memorial med-surg and Grossmont onc/tele/PCU, and didn't receive any calls back. I did get the email from Memorial that they would notify me by March 3rd for an interview though.

I graduated in May 2017 and I currently work as a float pool NA. I live in Oahu and it's pretty competitive to land an RN job here because there's not many hospitals, very few openings, and they prefer internal experience... I'm 23, so I'm trying to be patient and optimistic since I'm young haha. I only have a year of hospital experience but I completed about the same clinical hours and 270 hours of preceptorship in an ICU.

Did any out of state applicants get called for an interview? And if anyone already has their RN in another state, have you already started transferring your license to CA?

Did anyone get their scrubs yet? Every time I went to the bookstore, my size wasn't there. They said they'll call when they restock, but I'm afraid I won't have one in time for orientation

@Luffle I will be taking a WI course online at KCC! The class is ENG 273C with Leigh Dooley. It also kills one of the DA/DH/DL requirements!

Yeah you both should call just in case your letters may have gotten lost because the date to turn in forms is on April 11th!
