  1. Thank you so much!! And if I'm applying to all 3 at the same time, can I do the online application, or is there some reason the paper application is preferred? For the Furnishing license, it asks for the NP license information...do I leave that blank as well?
  2. Hi Everyone! I will be relocating to California due to my partner being transferred there for work. He starts at the end of June. I work as an FNP in a FQHC in AZ and already gave notice. Now I need to start the job hunt and transfer my licenses. My question is: Can I apply for the RN and NP endorsement at the same time? Or do I need to apply for the RN license first, and then the NP license? I'm nervous this could take 6 months if I have to wait for the RN license first (10-12 week wait listed on their website+4-8 week wait for the NP process). I've heard of people applying for them at the same time, but on the NP app there is a place for the CA RN license number. HELP!
  3. Hi tph731! I was accepted to the pre-specialty FNP program, and I selected to do my specialty year within a 2.5 hour radius of Nashville. Do you know how likely it is that I will get to stay in Nashville? Do most people get placed pretty far away? If so, are all of your clinicals for the entire year in one location, or all over the place? That is, if you get placed in a small town 2.5 hours outside of Nashville, can you just move to that town for the year? Thanks for your time! :)
  4. Hi hhirschfeld! We have to let them know by April 2nd. Good luck!! :)
  5. Hi PomLin! I got in to another program which was my first choice-so I took that offer. I was sad to turn down Jefferson though! It seems like such a great place:)
  6. Hey guys! I received my offer letter in the mail 2 days ago for FNP. I declined the offer and am going with another school, so hopefully this opens up a spot for someone else! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back! :)
  7. Thanks, gabookworm! I'm scared to join the group because I haven't told anyone at work that I'm moving to go back to school...so I don't want coworkers to see that I've joined the facebook group. Do you know if I can join it and keep it private on my profile?
  8. I am not a part of the facebook group! I had an email this morning from SU saying this "Please take a few minutes to complete our Admitted Graduate Student Survey. We hope to learn more about you and what factors inform your decision to accept or decline the offer of admission to Seattle University. Your participation will greatly assist us in understanding our graduate students, anticipating needs, and providing a quality service and learning environment. Your responses will be confidential and will in no way impact your status with the University." I feel like this implies I was accepted? But I'm not sure, ha! Seattle seems to be a bit unorganized...
  9. Hey guys! I just turned down my FACT spot (even though I already paid the $500 deposit in November-which sucks!), but hopefully it opens up a position for someone on the waitlist. Good luck!! :)
  10. I also called and found out I was accepted for the FNP track! I honestly cannot believe it-I'm so excited! Has anyone started a facebook group for accepted students? We should do that:) Good luck to everyone still waiting to find out!
  11. Hi Hawaii808! Let the obsessive checking of the application status begin! Mine still has no change... I applied for FNP:)
  12. An email came out on Feb 7th to all accepted students stating the orientation date and the first day of classes. It also mentioned that an academic calendar did not exist yet...so I'm not sure if one has come out between now and then!
  13. Congrats svw90! Orientation is May 14th, and classes start May 19th:)
  14. Hi lofo78! I haven't heard anything:/ I was told at the interview that they wouldn't be looking at making decisions until after all interviews were complete, which is on Feb. 22nd. So I hope we hear by the 1st of March. This wait is getting really stressful!
  15. I'm an FNP applicant as well, and I haven't heard anything either! I'm nervous because they should be giving out acceptances within a few weeks...maybe they aren't interviewing FNP applicants this year?
  16. Yeah, same here-the date was just assigned to me! Mzaur-you're not scared to do the phone interview?? I'm tempted to do that as well to save money, but I'm terrified it will hurt my chances! I'm probably just being totally paranoid...and I'm super jealous you get to stay in your pj's!
  17. I'm Saturday for FNP! I was just notified today, and I'm coming from out of state so it's a bit of a scramble to get flights, hotel, etc. booked by Friday-yikes! But it's so exciting:) How are you guys going to dress? In suits?
  18. Hello everyone! Does anyone know if in prior years they did interviews on Saturdays? Do you think doing a phone interview puts you at a disadvantage? I am from out of state, so I'm just trying to figure out how to make the interview work! Congratulations to everyone else who received an invite to interview as well! So exciting:)
  19. Hey guys! After we have been accepted, what are the next steps? How are you accessing the background check or other paperwork we need to fill out? I'm feeling a little lost, so any direction would be great! Thanks:)
  20. Thanks, Nikki! I haven't started filling out any of the paperwork yet...is it intense? In past years' posts current students have tried selling things-ipads, uniforms, books, etc. for cheap. I wonder where they are?? And where the rest of our classmates are??
  21. I think a facebook group is a great idea:) I'm in the same boat-coming from out of state, and I prefer to live alone but don't think I can afford it...how much do you guys think a studio or one bedroom would be in a decent area of town?
  22. Congrats on the switch to the FACT program! That's exciting:) I'm not sure about everyone else, but I haven't received any emails containing any of that info yet. I also don't know what the best living situation is...dorms could be nice for being right on campus, but I don't know if I want to live in dorms again, ha.
  23. I think I read somewhere the mandatory orientation is on May 13th? But I'm not sure!! It is in mid-may though. I called the Financial Aid office this morning, and she said that because the FACT program is a 2nd Bachelor's degree program, I would only qualify for $12,000 government student loans and that I would have to take out private loans from a bank for the rest. With living expenses and tuition, that means taking out almost $50,000 in private, high-interest loans for the 12 month program. I'm guessing that is why most people go directly into the workforce-so they can pay off some of those loans before entering the MSN portion of the program. That amount freaks me out a little bit!! With most other Direct-Entry programs you are classified as a graduate student throughout the program and have access to government loans for the entire portion. Does the debt situation scare any of you guys??
  24. Yeah, I know they seem to really be pushing for working as an RN first. But I agree with you-if those jobs are hard to find, and we ultimately want to be NP's anyway, shouldn't we just go straight into the MSN portion full time and finish quickly? Ugh. Such a complicated decision!
