What was it like your first day as a nurse. I was blank it was like I forgot how to administer medication, start IV, draw blood etc. I was like "WHAT IF" somebody stop breathing what or how I'm going to respond to my first code blue

I wonder why nursing school is so hard & stressful...

Ughhhhhh I hate making mistakes when I'm going IV PUSH sometimes I lose count. Have this happen to y'all before.

Is it just me, But don't you hate when your trying to give report on shift change & you have that one nurse that have to do everything before they receive report. I get highly upset I be wanting to say why you didn't do all that before you got on the unit. Especially if you had a rough day on a 12 hr shift. Ughhhhhhhhh

I saw a nurse being nosey by looking in another patients file who was in another unit. Then they pick the phone up & gossip about the patients health.

Basically because it's peoples life's you playing with

Sometimes I have to be the charge nurse in the ER & sometimes its a headache. How do some of y'all feel about being the Charge Nurse on y'all unit. Sometimes a charge nurse is a extra dollar and a extra headache.

I am a ER nurse and im love every minute of it, it's something always going on at work you never know what to expect. But sometimes I think about switching to the ICU but I want to know what all do ICU nurses do differently from ER nurses, floor nurses etc.

I worked at this hospital where this male nurse who was cool, spoke to everybody, but he was stealing the patients meds. I had been asking where is that nice icu nurse & the nurses was like you didn't hear what happen I was like no, the nurses was like he got fired. I asked why what happen they said he was stealing his patients meds he had been doing it for 6 months. I feel so sorry for those Critical Care Patients that where in pain and instead of giving them they med he was taking them what about the patients that where put on a vent.

The ER was so busy so I called lab to draw blood from my patient. So I've been paying attention to one of the lab techs drawing blood from the patients IV. Is that in they job description because when I was a phlebotomist we couldn't do that. So what to do in a situation like that.

What was your first code blue like & how did you respond to it.

I'm a ER Nurse and I done seen almost everything that came to the ER from gunshot, lacerations etc. I also respond to trauma alerts when we have one. But I never in my life seen or heard of leech therapy. I was visiting my a friend on the Trauma/Surgery unit on my lunch break when so I entered the room the patient had like 5 leeches sucking on his hand I could of threw up & I never was the type to get the creeps when I seen stuff in the hospital. have any nurses perform or saw Leech Therapy.

Why do ER, ICU, && Med Surg nurses always get into it with lab techs. I notice a lot of nurses and lab techs always have issues with each other.

Why is it so hard for psyc nurses to transfer to another department such as ER, ICU & Med/Surg etc. I hear a lot of psyc nurses say they want to transfer to another department but they always say psyc nurses are not experience enough.

Well before I became a RN I I was a mental health tech on a acute psych and psych nurses they don't do anything but pass meds and give PRN they make techs do all the work all they do is tell the patients to get away from the nurses station I'm trying to chart.
