Hi everyone! I am a pediatric CVICU nurse and I just finished my first year in FNP school. I have been a nurse for over two years now and the majority of my experience has been in peds CV. I am worried that it will affect my chances of getting a job as an FNP if I do not get an adult experience before I graduate. Am I right to be worried about this? Do I have to change jobs before I graduate? I am hoping to work in a family clinic upon graduation. PS: I have about 4 months experience as a home health nurse PRN and about 5 months experience as a correctional nurse PRN.

I am a first year NP student and I and a few of my colleagues have been wondering about the NP salary in the area. The surveys are not specific enough and I am well aware that the numbers vary by specialty. I would like to know; 1) Salary (hourly, monthly or annually) 2) NP specialty 3) Years of experience 4) Type of experience (primary care or acute care) 5) Anything else you may want to add to help us out. Thank you.

I think you forgot to mention the area you are looking for school. That will be a very important factor when choosing a school.

Not premature at all. I was thinking about the same thing. I will like to know too, but there is a rumor that we have to find our preceptors after being assigned a clinical site.

From what I heard, they will email acceptance letter first and rejection letter a week or so later.

If they made their decision today, then we should hear something by next week!

Mine too! I think we will hear from them by the second week of April. I like the school and I hope it will be a good experience for us. Can you share how long you have been a nurse and what kind of nursing experience(s) you have?
