  1. I can only speak to Integris but they pay their new grad. nurse residents 15$/hr, this is during the time that they have already graduated nursing school and are participating in the nurse residency program which includes orientation to becoming an integris employee and other clinical skills and situations that the new nurse would see on a day to day basis. Once the nurse resident passess boards their pay immediately jumps to around 22$ (I believe). They participate in the nurse residency program/orientation for around 6 months and in my opinion really introduces the nursing career to these new grads. Hope this helps.
  2. This.. The ED is a very unique area in that you really do not know what will come through the front door or EMS bay. Anything from a sore throat to a stroke.. Have a good fundamental nursing background and have confidence in yourself and your skills and the rest will flow.. I started ED straight out of school and loved it.. Good luck!
  3. just as a general coming from icu to er you are going to have to try and throw out that whole head to toe assessment and do focused assessments. time is everything in ER.
  4. This. As a general I would say leadership roles should have a good length of experience, that being said everyone is different. Some people are more driven and show more initiative.
  5. I just graduated may 2014 from there and i have mixed emotions about the place. At the time i didn't feel like i learned a lot but when i applied it to the nclex and when talking to other people from different schools i felt more confident. The program itself is pretty chaotic, my fellow classmates and myself felt like the professors were never on the same page. Goodluck and congrats
  6. I'm a new grad working in a OKC ER with a BSN and make 19.13$ base. A friend of mine started here with a an ADN and started at the same in December.
