  1. Hi I am new to this website. I am an RN-BSN for only 4yrs now and I have been sent a required chemical dependency evaluation by the BON. I live in Ft. Worth, Texas and am freaked out by some of the comments I saw on another thread about the price being $1500 and they gave her a hair test. Also I waited last minute, and I haven't even chosen an evaluator yet and it's due in 4 days! I thought no biggie, I would just choose from the Board approved list and overnight it, but then I saw a nurse say the most important advice she had was to NOT USE ANYONE FROM THE BOARD APPROVED LIST THEY SEND YOU, because of money and what not, she felt it was very biased but to also get an attorney to back you up and help you find an evaluator that meets requirements. Well, I dont have time or money for that, I'm not employed right now because I lost my 4yr job at Baylor for this same thing I believe. I also was cleared through a Peer Review before I was fired so someone broke HIPPA to send Board this info. I wanted to ask CALLAHAN, RN if she could remember if her evaluator was *******? SHe is not on the list, but I saw your post and searched for RN, LPC in Dallas and only 2 came up. You made it sound very easy, unlike everyone else. Did they take a hair test? How long ago was your eval? I would appreciate any feedback, esp since I'm out of time. I know I can pass these tests they give, but I can't afford $1500 and it makes me want to give up, but I worked myself through college to be a nurse and I love what I do! I don't know what else I would do if something happened. It says if they do not receive your info in time, it's seen as a refusal and then an administrative hearing will be held...Does anyone know what that means, I'm sure it doesn't look good to refuse because it looks like you're guilty, but that's not the case here. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to write so much, but I'm so scared and feel like no matter what I do, something bad will happen to me because I already had to go thru a Peer Review for this, which was unanimously found NOT to be reported to Board...then I lost my job couple months later for same thing. Someone was/is out to get me and I don't know why. I was such a good nurse, but worked with all women and I wanted nothing to do with their high school, gossiping, politic Behavior! PLEASE HELP ME, I'LL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL! Thank you, Lauren, RN
