  1. I've been checking out Craigslist but haven't had much luck. It's a little early anyways. But I'm leaving California June 23 and spending all of July at my friend's place in Louisville, KY that way I can look for a place. I was hoping to be living in Jackson on August 1, that way there's be not too much and not too little time before school starts.
  2. @abs_33: okay north Jackson, I'll keep that in mind! Thank you! :) do you live in Jackson now? What are the names of the apartments that you moved in to if you don't mind me asking? Are you moving in soon? if you change your mind and decide you want a roommate I'm still looking! haha I heard that someone at the school can help set me up with a roommate too so I might do that
  3. Hey everyone that got accepted into the Jackson campus: I'm from California and will be making the move out to Jackson this summer, and I'm not familiar with the area at all! @abs_33: I saw your previous post about the cherry grove and post house apartments, thanks for the info! You did say that there were some parts that I didn't want to live in, do you know which parts those are? Hahaha I don't want to get stuck in a bad part of town I was looking to room with one or a couple fellow nursing students so if anyone is interested, feel free to send me a personal message! Get to know each other :)
  4. @bmacleod: did you end up getting accepted? I'm #3 on the waitlist for the fall 2014 semester and am looking for some light at the end of this tunnel!
  5. Has anyone received any information on the program at all? Like when classes start or tuition is due or curriculum?
  6. @cchroust: ahh, okay I was going to say if you were from San Diego there is the school I went to for my CNA class that was cheap and really good and not a for-profit college. It's called grossmont health occupations center in Santee, CA if you wanted to check it out. @lclayton: Tomorrow is the deadline for the people to say they're going to confirm their acceptances so hopefully 3 people decide they don't want to go! lol
  7. @tinker88 how is it going in the program?!?! Is it pretty stressful considering how short it is? How about your friendships with the other students, have you made some close friends?
  8. Hey Clayton! Where in California are you from?
  9. I got wait listed, but I am #3 on the list so that's not too bad! I still have hope! It says that they have accepted students on the wait list as late as the week before classes begin, not ideal, but I would definitely do it!
  10. I haven't gotten an email yet, I'm don't think that's a good sign :/
  11. I haven't yet! I'll be checking my email constantly now!!!!!
  12. We have officially hit the 2 week mark!!!! They told me I should hear something back within 3 weeks so hopefully this is the home stretch!!!!!
  13. Nothing yet here either! Killing me! lol well hopefully we only need to stress for about 2 more weeks. At least they are faster than another school I applied to. I applied to Union University in Tennessee in November and finally heard something back in February, that was torture! i can't believe no on else has been on this thread! If I get accepted to UK, I definitely want to go there but want to talk to some other students about possibly getting a place together, especially since I've only been to Lexington once and I live so far away so it's going to be hard for me to figure out this living situation..
  14. Hear anything back yet? lol probably not, but I though I'd ask hahahaha! Did you apply to any other schools?
  15. There were SO many scenario questions! I was surprised there were that many!! The whole 30 min was "explain a time when this happened.." Did you have two women? Vicki and Jessica I think their names were.. The technical side was difficult to deal with.. A lot of cutting out and me asking them to repeat themselves which always gets awkward, makes you feel stupid lol but it's done!! Whew! They said they should have an answer in about 3 weeks by letter mail so I'll be checking the mail box every damn day starting in about a week lol I hope it all went well though, I guess you never really know until you get that letter!! hahaha
  16. How did it go?!?!
  17. The CNA course is just something you'll have to get out of the way I guess, no big deal! It will go by fast, especially since by then you will know if you will have hopefully gotten into UK! And awesome, I heard Georgia is beautiful. Well congrats, hope it all works out for both of us! I just got my interview schedule, I interview on Friday 3/28 @ 11:30am... That's 8:30am my time so hopefully ill be awake enough lol. Wen do you interview?
  18. For the people that have gotten their acceptances, have you received any info on the program yet? Like when it starts, if you can skip out on the classes you've already taken, or anything really? I feel like I just paid $600 and got nothing lol
  19. Hey! I just got an interview invite last week too! I'm from California so ill be doing the Internet interview as well. I've been combing through this website but haven't bad any luck with finding any info on the interviews, which makes it a little nerve racking. To be honest, I had no idea about the CNA requirement.. Luckily I got certified in December of 2012.. Whew! Lucked out on that one. I just got accepted into another second degree program at Union University, but I really want to go to UK! What was your first major? I just graduated from San Diego State University in December with a biology degree.
  20. Thank you! :) Does anyone know anything about the Jackson area? I'm from California and I have no idea where to start looking for places to live. I want to live close to campus and preferably with another nursing student.
  21. Got my acceptance email for the Jackson campus last week!! Super pumped!!!
  22. Hi everyone! i just got accepted into Union's ABSN at the Jackson campus and I am excited!!!!!!!! I'm not sure if anyone is still on this thread, but I wanted to give it a try to see if I can get any information about the school. Any kind of information would be great! Classes, the campus, parking, living near campus. And this may be a weird/rude question, but I was wondering about the types of relationships that are formed with classmates? Especially someone like me; I'm not incredibly religious, so I am worried that I will not make the types of friends that are accepting to someone who doesn't go to church every Sunday. I'm not trying to be mean or condescending at all.. I just want to make sure I won't be remremanded for that choice. Thanks for the help!
  23. Nothing yet! Has anyone called to bug them? hahaha Maybe the squeaky wheel will get the oil!
  24. @abs_33: seriously!! I'm finishing up micro right now and that class has been the biggest pain in the butt ever!! I'm glad it's almost over -__- I do NOT want to have to take it over again!! @JMGrayson: thank you! If I don't hear anything at the 4 week mark I think I'm going to call just to make sure! Yeah, I saw some old posts and I saw some people getting acceptances around December 20 of last year so I really hope it's the same for us! Only about a week away! @alipooh: yes, unfortunately I'm from San Diego :/ I grew up here and I'm really over it and looking for a change! My boyfriend is going to University of Kentcuky's dental school in fall 2014 and we went out there for his interview and it was amazing! We drove down to the Hendersonville campus while we were there and I absolutely fell in LOVE with Kentucky and Tennessee!!! That's a bummer you have to take the prereq's again but at least you'll have a one-up on the class this time around! From previous threads it seems like a lot of people that apply to Union are from the South, so I'm hoping they'll take some applicants from other places! I've heard that Universities in the South are not very out-of-south friendly.
  25. @JMGrayson: April???!!!!?!?! Do you think maybe that's because you possibly didn't make the first priority deadline? Also, how did you speak to an advisor? It seems like every time I try to contact the school, I have to wait a few days for them to call me back. Do you remember the name of the person you spoke to? @abs_33: My major is biology too! Have you taken the classes in the curriculum like micro and stats as well? I'm hoping we are able to use the credits for all the classes we've already taken rather than having to take them again!
