  1. I'm planning to start there in the Spring. Just recently decided. I cannot for the life of me find the facebook group. Erica, I sent you a facebook message. It will be in your "others" folder. First name Ashley :) I went to go look at the campus recently -I asked if they have a gym, and they do. It is accessible 24 hours!

  3. Please let today be the day. Fingers crossed.
  4. I am still awaiting a decision from them. I sent in my application at the eleventh hour, right before the deadline of 10/1. I have not heard back anything except that they received my application and that it is being reviewed. To those who were accepted, I am curious: how much time was there between submitting your application and hearing a decision?
  5. If Laura Adams told you that on the tour that is probably accurate! I wish they lowered our expectations of how soon we will hear their decisions -say if they told us November, but surprised us all by actually releasing them in October. I could better deal with that. For some reason I am certain they are going to email decisions on a Friday late afternoon/ evening so I am hoping for tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Lolasan I'm getting heart palpitations too! And I check my email obsessively. One gets so invested during the application process.
  6. The fact that they only have 20 spots makes me nervous. I hope we don't have to wait until early November...that sounds like agony. Where did you hear late October to early November? I have the application guide (which might be dated since I printed it out about 6 months ago) and it says they issue decisions for Spring cohorts in early October. That is great you have secured a backup. Hopefully we will hear back from GU before the 23rd.
  7. Clairefromsandiego, that is all very cool -except your fractured foot! How is the healing going? That is a health-related project right there. Taking care of your own fracture (do you have access to health care practitioners and clinics while you are there?) The Peace Corps is a cool endeavor. The experience you are getting will set you apart from other applicants when you start applying to schools.
  8. So we obviously didn't hear decisions by the end of last week We have officially entered the middle of the month today. They say they give results in "early-October". As of today I think it no longer qualifies as "early" October! Hopefully any day (hour?) now. evar that is frustrating you have to hold off on deposits from other schools. I read through some older threads for GU ABSN admissions and it seems they always take their time and issue decisions later than other schools. People in past cohorts had similar frustrations about deposits for other schools. What are your other schools?
  9. Did anyone else attend the webinar yesterday? Thoughts? They said they hoped to get decisions out by the end of week. Ek! I hope that's true. Good luck to everyone.
  10. @evar financial aid forms are supposed to be filled out this month. I talked to people in the financial aid office last week to verify what I needed to fill out. They said to go to their financial aid website (Home - Student Financial Services) and hit "apply now". Then go to the "first year undergraduate" tab. They require that you fill out the FAFSA and CSS/Financial Aid profile (if you haven't already!) @clairefromsandiego too bad about Miracosta. Sometimes people don't know what to do about unusual cases and so they just default to saying it is not possible. Glad some of the other colleges are giving you proper tuition rates. How cool that you are in Jordan as a Peace Corps volunteer. Do you volunteer with health related projects?
  11. Good luck with the getting ready process! I just moved from the San Diego area. Did most of my pre-reqs at Miracosta :) Am I the only one calculating the percentage of the month left everyday? I want it to be October so I can start obsessively checking my email to hear about acceptance decisions.
  12. Hi. I'm an applicant for the Spring 2014 ABSN at Georgetown too! I live in Northern Virginia. I know the metro doesn't go all the way into campus but there is a Georgetown University shuttle that takes students into campus from the Rosslyn Metro stop. Evar I did not know this is the first cycle that is not offering the Scholars program. I was waiting for the email for the application for the scholarship and was getting nervous that I didn't get it because I thought my application wasn't complete or something like that. That's too bad it isn't being offered anymore.
