  1. Awesome!! Did we put our preferences on this application? It's so odd, I don't even remember doing that- I remember it being fairly bare bones and then doing the personality screening.
  2. So I got an e-mail yesterday giving me specifics about the interview! We are actually going to be face to face with nurse managers!? I'm confused and intrigued as NYP has never done this before. Mine is for Pediatrics and PICU. Anyone else?
  3. I'll also be starting out in the PICU as a new graduate. I'm anxious but very excited! I've been reading a pediatric textbook as well as a pediatric critical care case study book just to try to familiarize myself with things so that I can keep up when people discuss different topics. I know reading and textbooks do not make up for actual experience though! From what the trainer told me when I shadowed the unit, our orientation is 6 months long and very supportive. I'm hoping that the orientation combined with my outside studying will make for a fun and safe beginning on the unit!
  4. I got the same e-mail! This does appear to be a new process for NYP- i.e. the skipping the meet and greet event and replacing it with the virtual event/ interviews. I still think that the "top" applicant pool is very large though, so it's tough. I wasn't able to log into the virtual event the other night so I will be attending the alternate date this Tuesday at 5:00 pm. I plan to ask the Talent Acquisition Team if things are progressing differently this year- like if they have a lot of known openings for new grads and whether the "interview" that we're going on is with a specific unit(s) that we could potentially get hired to, or whether it's just an initial screening sort of situation.
  5. Hi ya'll, I called Lynn just now and she said that there was another batch of emails to go out this week and we should know either way by Friday.
  6. Haha maybe y0ginurse, that'd be a nice outcome :) and yeah I have a job offer here in Bing but Hershey was by far my first choice!
  7. Me neither I'm thinking no news is NOT good news lol but I just want to know either way!
  8. Congratatulations on your interview!!! Now I'm really freaking out that I didn't hear anything 😫 haha I'll keep my fingers crossed. If I actually get something I will be asking you locals lotsa questions! Where did/are you going to school?
  9. I haven't gotten anything either it's driving me crazy! I really want to call and ask about it but I'm not sure it's a good idea- I just need to be patient haha
  10. Me too! Yeah, definitely by mid-March. It seems from past threads they typically begin sending emails about a month following the application closing date. If that's the case, we could get something as early as next week! I'm from Long Island originally and I'm currently in school at Binghamton University, so I'd be relocating if I get this! What about you?
  11. Yay someone else! Good choices. I did PIMCU, peds acute and peds oncology. I can't wait to hear from them! But yes anyone with any insight into the residency, I'd love to hear about your experience!
  12. Can anyone who was accepted to the residency and is working at Penn speak to their experience there so far? Is the residency a good program? Do you like the hospitals/coworkers/etc? I'd like to apply and am curious about everyone's experience!
  13. Hi everybody! I'm going to be applying for the July 2015 cohort. Anyone else? I hope everyone who was still waiting on an e-mail got good news!
