FSCJ SPRING 2015
That sucks! I was really rooting for you. I can't believe there are so many people between my 180.6 and your 178. That's only 2.6 points. Amazing.

FSCJ SPRING 2015
Oh, man. You were so close. That's too bad. I hope you keep trying and don't give it.

Congrats! Boys are awesome! My four are all boys.

FYI: FSCJ has daycare scholarships you can apply for to pay for daycare for your kids as long as you are utilizing the on-campus day care center. I don't know the specifics but I will be looking into it.

FSCJ SPRING 2015
I remember reading about this on boards from previous semesters. Not everyone gets their letter on the same day. I have my fingers crossed for all who haven't gotten anything yet.

This is me too! I used to be a CNA then I had our first child, then started my prereqs to go into nursing, then got pregnant again and dropped out of school. After baby #2 I became a stay at home mom, then came #3, then I started going back to school and had #4 while in school. Now I am finally going to be a NURSE!!! I am the other one who has 180.6 points. I'm pretty positive you'll get an acceptance letter.

Thank you. Thank you. Hello I'm so excited. My family really needs this.

FSCJ SPRING 2015
I checked my mailbox for the third time just now and I got my acceptance letter.

FSCJ SPRING 2015
Yes they are but I am still hopeful. I was told that for every 144 seats to be filled there are anywhere from 300-500 applicants. That's a lot of people that don't get accepted. Plus there are plenty of people who aren't on this discussion forum. This is my plan of action: if I don't get in this semester, retake the HESI and apply for summer. If I still don't get in, apply to Lpn program then LPN to RN bridge program. And then i plan to eventually get my bachelors and maybe masters. It will take longer, yes but sh*t happens. You just got to roll with the punches. :)

I have checked my mail twice already and nothing at all, not even junk, which is unusual. But I really have no idea when my mailman comes. I have to go out later when my husband gets home so I'll drive up there and check it again just to be sure. My score is 180.6

There is some really helpful stuff on there. I even saw a board recently that was nothing but white shoes ideal for nursing students. Sounds crazy but I found it helpful.

FSCJ SPRING 2015
Does anyone else have a Pinerest board for nursing school study aids or am I the only one?
-
FSCJ SPRING 2015
Darn. Wow that's not a lot of time. Well, I have to go out again to pick up one of my kids from school so I'm going to check again when I get back. Before I was all like whatever, I can wait. Now I'm like OMG it is killing me not knowing

Congrats to everyone, by the way!!

When I read that some of you got your acceptance letters I practically ran to my mailbox with a 2 year old in tow. It's quite a hike but there was nothing at all. I usually get at least one piece of junk mail. So I'm not sue if they have come yet or not. My apartment complex is like the red-headed stepchild on the post office. We hardly ever have the same mailman/lady. Does it say in the acceptance letter what the cutoff score is?

FSCJ SPRING 2015
FYI: The WIA scholarship application opens on Saturday, November 1st. Even if we haven't received our letters yet I'm still going to apply so it is one less thing I have to worry about. CareerSource: Educational Opportunities

FSCJ SPRING 2015
Yes, you get both. Also there are tons of scholarships for nursing school students. Fscj offers some and you can do a google search. If you go to connections and click on financial aid there will be a section labeled scholarship search (I think). There are several for students in the nursing program.

I'm there with you. I applied with 180.6 points. There is just so much uncertainty in that area.
-
FSCJ Nursing-Summer 2015
With that many points you will definitely get in. Pretty much anything over 190 is a guaranteed seat. The cutoff is usually some in the upper 170s/lower 180s.

So what should we expect first term? I worked at a hospital when I lived in Clearwater like 10 years ago. They had CNA positions specifically for nursing students where you worked either every other weekend or 1 day a week. Does anyone know if hospitals here in Jax have positions like that.

FSCJ SPRING 2015
My score is a 180.6 too but with Micro. I made the mistake of taking Micro and A&P 1 at the same time.
-
FSCJ SPRING 2015
Only the nights/weekends classes are at Deerwood. Days are still at the North campus.
-
FSCJ SPRING 2015
I have some financial aid left but not enough to cover all four semesters. This is the web address for info: CareerSource: Educational Opportunities The first thing you should do is go to a work source office. There is one on every campus. I'm not sure if you have to go to the North campus specifically since that's where the Nursing program is held. Best of luck to you.

Soooo, today I took the HESI and then turned in my application. My score in 180.6. I didn't do as well as I thought I would. My cumulative score for the HESI is an 85.50%. I'm really nervous because it's in that gray zone in between definitely getting in and definitely not getting in as far as past scores. My NAT scores were better. So now we wait.
