Same here, I wish the best for everyone still waiting. Did you go to a group interview? The interviewees kept grilling me for answers which kinda made me feel uncomfortable. I have my last final to take tomorrow and will urge my professors to post my grades up asap (positive I got an A in all classes this semester) so I can send it to NYU. Other than that there's not much I can do so I'm trying my best not to be all neurotic about it. I've definitely been losing a few hours of sleep every night since Monday though haha.

Still no news on my end. I got waitlisted for Stony but accepted to Downstate though. Sorry to everyone who get rejected. Remember: A set back is a setup for a comeback.

Hey guys, looks like rejections for fall transfers have started today. Looks like we made it past the first wave since none of us have been rejected! Official NYU Fall 2015 Transfer Thread - Page 87 - College Confidential - many have gotten rejected this morning so it's safe to say they're looking into our applications. The reality is we're competing with students applying straight out of High School since they too are going for a BSN. But NYU is still interested in transfer BSN students because they purposely set up a NYUCN info booth last month in my college's lobby trying to recruit potential applicants. I asked the NYUCN rep at the booth and she told me acceptances for transfers are sent out specifically at the end of may to the mid of June. Which leads me to say it's best not to speculate on how many people applied, what % got in last year, what their scores were, etc. In the end the rep told me all that matters is your essay and holistic background. If you did plently of volunteer work associated with med fields and have a good gpa then you're the type of applicant they look for. Also, It's not a good idea to compare ourselves (as bsn transfers) to the people in the ABSN thread because those people already have a 4 year degree, most of them older than us and therefore have more experience in the med field. NYU factors this in when choosing them. But for us, they recognize that some of us are attending 2 yr colleges or 4 yrs straight out of H.S and only have gpa's and limited experience.

Thanks for relaying my message. There are some that applied to ABSN posting in the Fall 2015 Transfer thread and transfer students strictly posting here. This would naturally cause some worry to transfer students because their applications haven't been reviewed yet. So, all and all please make sure to stick to the thread that's relevant to your application (ABSN vs Transfer) so we don't cause confusion and worry among ourselves . Also, I'd suggest not calling the office and bothering them anymore since we've got sufficient info on acceptance dates. For ABSN, you guys have until next week whilst Transfers start within the next 2 weeks, ending in mid June.

For fall transfers (4 yrs) I was told we get our notifications starting the end of may towards the middle of june so we still have a bit of waiting to do. If you're applying for ABSN I think your notifications have been going out and will end next week (from what I've read). Best of luck to everyone!

That's what I was told too, similar - if not, exactly the same wording when I called 2 weeks ago by a lady. Seems like it's what they were told to tell people since they're swamped with calls about materials. I emailed them last week but they haven't gotten around to responding. My application is complete but it's missing 1 recommendation letter that I sent to their office building on the 1st of May. It was signed for so I don't know how they could've lost it @.@

Thank you guys so much for the feedback! It really means a lot to me. I already submitted my common app as a transfer student in the fall. My GED and College transcripts are on their way to NYU right now, hopefully USPS will deliver it by tomorrow! I'm also waiting on my last professor recommendation. He told me he will get it to me by next Wednesday so hopefully I'll turn in everything on time before it hits 3/1 so I get priority decision. I decided to give it a shot because a friend of mine in CC got into the ASBN spring program of 15 with a 3.5 GPA. She had 2 years of experience as a CNA though. Hopefully that will help you guys out.

I don't see a thread for NYUCN fall transfers so I'm gonna post here. Can anyone comment on my chances of admission? I'm male, currently 2 years in a CC taking nursing prereqs with 36 credits and 3.77 uw 4.0 GPA. I'm finishing up NYU's nursing pre-reqs (only stat and nutrition). My extracurriculars are hospital volunteer work and a background as an nursing assistant, not more than a year though. I hit a rough patch during my H.S career, got a GED. I spent my time in CC making a turn-around and was pretty honest about that in my education interruption essay. Also have a few certifications, don't know if it will help me though. I'd like to say my grades are good but I'm kinda nervous given my crappy education background prior to CC.

I'm a prenursing student, about to take his HESI next month. I've been studying for this since September so I'm confident I'll get in (3.9gpa too). I'm currently working part time as a Hospital Service Tech at a hospital in the city but I want to expand my horizons so I'm thinking about taking a quick 6 week Pharm Tech or EKG+Phleb course and get certified while I take my Nursing program courses at my uni. What do you guys think?

I've been stuck on this topic for almost an hour now and I think I've got it. So Oncotic pressure is the pressure generated by Albumin proteins in the Plasma that forces fluids such as water from the intercellular space to move into the RBC? This is the answer I'm planning to give for my test coming up in a few days as my Professor asks what Oncotic Pressure is.

Right now here are my grades: A Psy100 A Bio425 A- Eng101 B Mat104 Overall GPA: 3.85 Pre-Req GPA: 3.75 I'm so scared I won't get into the nursing program because I don't have a 4.0 pre req GPA. I'm thinking about retaking Mat104 because I got a B in it. Should I do that? I didn't take the HESI exam yet.

I'm a prenursing student right now almost finished with my prereqs for my community college's accelerated ADN program. I plan on getting my BSN after this is finished (transfering to 4 year uni). Some of my friends came into the community college with the mindset of taking the transfer courses to a 4 year uni, paying no attention to the nursing program they have to offer so they will be going straight to a BSN. Did I make the right choice? Would the ADN->BSN route net me more experience since I know that's what most hospital look for? I was also thinking of working as a ADN while getting my BSN so I will have income while pursuing my actual goal. Is this good?

I have 2 more prereqs left before I take the HESI exam for my community college's nursing program. Right now I'm conflicted with 2 choices: 1)Should I transfer right after I finish my prereqs and jump straight to a 4 year college 2)Take the HESI, complete my community college's nursing program and get my RN with a associates degree and THEN transfer to a 4 year? My GPA is currently 3.834 so I'm confident in my ability to do well either way but I don't want to waste time when it comes to getting my RN-BSN. Advice guys?

I'm done with all my prereq's EXCEPT for A&P 1. In order to take A&P 1 I need to take Fundamentals of General, Organic and Biological Chemistry which I'm taking this semester along with Pyschology 240 (Social/Cognitive Psych). I have the Chem lecture every Mondays and lab work on Wednesdays which means I'm only going to school twice every week (Not counting Psych 240 because it's an Sunday online class). To counter this I've starting working part time retail 3x a week and volunteering in a hospital during the weekends (saturday and sundays). Of course this means I'm a part time student now. My friends support my decision but my mother hates me for doing this (she's a old generation immigrant, came here to get me a better future, etc, etc). Is this the right choice? After this semester I only have AP1 left I will be considered a part time student for this fall and next spring. Advice? I'm 20 years old. My current GPA is 3.740 my schedule is below: Monday - Chem Lecture Tuesday - Retail Shift Wednesday - Chem Lab Thursday - Retail Shift Friday - Retail Shift Saturday - Hospital Volunteering Sunday - Online Psych Class noon-2pm, afterwards Hospital Volunteering

I went to a Banana Republic interview today. It went pretty well and the manager said he would give me a call this friday after the background checks go through so I'm pretty sure I'll get hired. However the problem is that I also have a hospital volunteer interview this month (September 30th, not sure why the lady booked me so far off in the future). I'm conflicted on whether or not I should decline Banana Republic's job offer as a sales associate so I can volunteer full time due to the slight chance I'm afraid that the hospital might reject me for whatever reason leaving me with both jobs lost because I took that gamble. There is also the option of taking BOTH jobs while going to classes (I have two classes this semester, Chemistry 121 (Fundamental of Chemistry) and Psychology 240. Can you guys give your opinions on what I should do? Are hospital volunteer hours flexible so I can mold it around my school and job? I have absolutely NO WORKING experience what so ever so the reason why I took a job in retail was to improve my human relations skills (I'm a bit of a loner and shy person) and was hoping to incorporate that into my nursing major since medical majors have to talk ALOT.

If that's the case then should I put 1.5k on the table and take CNA classes along with regular pre-nursing classes? That would put me in line to land a CNA job along with taking my nursing program next year when I finish API and II.

Okay so I'm freaking out since my classes are winding down and I only have 2 classes left to take which are A&P I and II. Since I have to take these in 2 seperate semesters I will have A LOT of free time. I've called a few hospitals in my city (NYC area) today and they only have clerical jobs for me to volunteer. I also have no previous work experience, only helped out at my uncle's lumber factory during the summer. Where do I start? I can't fathom going to class that meets twice a week and sit around the house for the rest of the week. I'm also thinking about taking CNA classes with the free time I have if I don't find a sidejob so I at least have some kind of qualification to put on the table besides being a nursing student. I also don't want to get a job in retail because it doesn't pertain to my nursing major but I might have no choice because the volunteer jobs are only clerical and I'm not sure if any hospitals will hire someone with no work experience. I tried meeting up with my counselor in the nursing department today and since it's summer he's rarely there so I really really someone to put me on the right track. I have a 3.8 GPA right now but with zero working experience I feel like I'm getting nowhere. Help guys?
