  1. I thought they said like 500 people apply.
  2. Gurrrrlllll you know 2 people already declined. I'm sure 2 more probably did as well!
  3. Is that when they send out decisions again?
  4. @Kris- If you haven't received an e-mail it might not be a bad thing. As you can see, some people received e-mails and were rejected, so just keep happy thoughts! Maybe you're in the next round of people to be notified!
  5. @Benny- I send you a PM. Just click on the envelope icon on the right and you should see a message from me in your inbox. :)
  6. Yes. One of us has to add you into the group.
  7. @Benny- What's your name? I'll add you on FB. (PM me your info) :) Congrats!
  8. @Kaw- I messaged you! :)
  9. I got into VCU's ABSN program!!!!! So excited! Got into both of the schools I applied to!
  10. I'll PM it to you.
  11. I added you, Wilson! :) @Allie- I tried to add you and it wouldn't let me.
  12. I can't find the group! D:
  13. So my crisis is solved. Lol. I feel so silly. I can't wait to meet you all! I kind of hope I'm the youngest one in our cohort.... LOL
  14. Actually, you weren't supposed to reply to the e-mail unless you were deferring your offer...and I responded. But I said I was accepting my offer. And then I sent another e-mail saying that I misread the instructions. I'M SO NERVOUS! WHY CAN'T I READ?!
  15. Reply to the e-mail and send in the deposit by February 14th.
  16. Congrats kaw! Hopefully someone (maybe I'll do it) will make an accepted students page on FB. @Allie- I really hope 4 people don't accept their offers so you can be in the cohort with us! I've wanted us both to get in since the summer! //3
  17. I got an e-mail and I got in!!!!!!!!!!! MGOMGOMGOMGOMOMGOMGM (I hope you get in Allie!)
  18. Congrats, Cchun!
  19. I'm trying not to think about it because in all honesty, it just makes me more anxious and fearful that I won't get in. I don't even expect to hear anything on Friday because they don't notify everyone at once. Whatever happens, happens, you know? :)
  20. @Allie- Awww! It'll be okay! I really am curious how the decision making process works though. Like how do they decide whose application they read first? Do they sort them into piles of like "people who meet minimum GPA" and then "those who don't?" ANd then from there, make piles from the people who meet min. GPA of who has all pre-reqs finished and who doesn't? And so on and so on? Or just when they turned their application in? Does anyone else think about that or is it just me? LOL
  21. Oh lawd. That's too soon. Lol. I don't want to know. But Allie, I guess you were right about them telling us on a Friday!
  22. @Bets- I live in VA. The school I want to go to stopped doing the ABSN to MSN last year. But from what I've heard (from nurses who worked there) going straight from a bachelors to masters isn't a good idea because you're getting an NP after having no real experience working in your specialty. (You might do a few 12 hour shifts a month while in school, but you aren't working full time). I figure I'll work for a 1 year or two (depending on which masters program I want to do) and then apply to grad school. As for what you're saying, if they're both the same time, I would honestly just apply to both (if you can). If you can only do one or the other, I would do the straight BSN so you could just be done with it. You'll still get to work after completing them both, so might as well do the BSN.
  23. Well...as another young person, I can tell you the reason why I'm choosing to do an ABSN as opposed to an ADN to RN to BSN is time (and also the fact that I just graduated with a BA and don't see the point of getting an associates (that's my own pretentiousness, so excuse me!)) But I think you would be better off doing an ABSN, unless you don't have a Bachelor's in something else (because you need one in order to be eligible to apply). With an ABSN, you would be able to get your BSN in 12-24 months, depending on the program you do. So you won't be in school "forever" and you won't have to "add that extra step." It's a more intensive program, but you get the BSN that employers want, and will be able to work after being in school for about 2 years max. I see it all as a time thing, but my end goal will be getting my doctorate, so that's why I want everything to be done ASAP. I hope this was somewhat helpful and not off putting! If this was TLDR; Maybe consider an ABSN instead of a traditional BSN vs ADN. :)
  24. @Allie- You never know. Maybe ours disappearing is a bad thing and maybe yours still having "complete and ready for review" is a good thing!
  25. Hmm... I mean I was just making a guess. I have no idea how they even do the application process or how it works. I mean, I figure just to start sending out decisions they would do a Monday and then from there people would find out whenever because they aren't going to tell everyone at once.
