  1. Hi there, you need 1750 critical care bedside hours to take the CCRN.
  2. @icunole i did the head start (Chem/physics for anesthesia and the professional aspects class). Would highly recommend doing these if you can (or at least the Chem because its very time consuming). We started Jan.10th so we're almost 1 month in :) I am attending the Hollywood campus. I reiderate what other people/ other Barry interview strings have posted: it was really laid back, no clinical questions, just a general get-to-know you. I walked out thinking: "that's what I was so stressed about??" :) The faculty are very nice and are not there to intimidate you. There is a 20 question written exam with ccrn type questions and Chem questions ie. half life, what is the universal solvent.. Some molecular formula stuff which I attempted educated guesses on - had been a while since my last Chem class. I'm not sure how much or even if this affected our acceptance. I never saw my grade. The interview day you also have the opportunity to meet a current student who answers any questions. good luck!
  3. It's $3,000! I didn't need the refresher Chem course, but if I had I would have definitely gone the community college route!
  4. @doodledome Check your messages, I just sent you the link!
  5. @poopyhead Your username is awesome 👍🏼
  6. @chronicsg Definitely do it- so you know what a CRNA actually does! Good luck to those to interviewed! 🙏🏼
  7. Congrats everyone!!! I look forward to meeting you all at orientation! @gamommy81 I am keeping my fingers crossed you get that call! 🙏🏼
  8. Congrats @T456 !! What location did you ask for? @Ccrncmc11 a Barry SRNA mentioned to me that Barry held some sort of family BBQ in the past for new students+ their family members. Did they do that for your cohort?
  9. I retook the GRE before the interview. I ended up with a 302 which they accepted.
  10. @CCRNCMC11 Awesome, thank you!
  11. @CCRNCMC11, Do you remember what book you used when you took Chem & Physics for Anesthesia? It has been a while since I took chem and i'm considering getting the book (even if Barry uses different book now) and just reorienting myself to main concepts.
  12. Don't let them make you feel bad! Management will walk right over you if you let them. They most likely would make you feel bad even if you picked up more shifts and THEN said no to overtime. "What are you, rich?" "you're young, you don't want extra money?" those are the phrases I hear at work for not working overtime, ridiculous!
  13. I received the acceptance letter yesterday! Did you get good news yesterday @brunosmommy?
  14. I'm in too!! Yay!!!!!!! Congrats everyone!!!
  15. @CCRNCMC11 , Looking through previous posts it seems like Barry makes their admission decisions earlier than the 2-3 weeks they tell us during the interview. What is your knowledge/experience with that? I thought after the interview I would be less nervous- but nope! :)
  16. Test was not bad, although I had to guess on some of the Chem questions. The interview was veryyyy laid back. I left yesterday happy with how it went and then now I'm thinking "wait, that was TOO laid back" lol What did you think? Are you applying to other schools?
  17. @brunosmommy I was there today too :) I'm the brunette who was sitting in the middle of the 2nd row. Asked the SRNA how clinical sites were picked. Where were you sitting?
  18. Does anyone else have South Florida (Hollywood) as their first choice?
  19. @gamommy81, That's what I was thinking too.
  20. @cm684 I am curious as to what information validates the assumption that most of those who interview are accepted? Do you personally know a lot of people that interviewed and have concurrently been accepted? Or, is the assumption based on posts from this website? I think the most concrete evidence would be how many people interviewed last year vs how many people were accepted last year. Does anyone know?
  21. I think we're going to need several bags of popcorn for this one.
  22. I found out today I didn't get in. Although, FIU was my first choice- i am still hopeful for admission at Barry. Those of you who were accepted to FIU- congratulations again and I wish you the best in the future!
  23. Anyone else still waiting for a response?
  24. Congratulations!!! How amazing! I'm still waiting over here. While I'm still trying to stay positive, the reality that I may not get in is sinking in. But I am truly happy for you all :)
