Barry University MS-Anesthesiology / CRNA Spring 2016
RN Kay, my GRE scores put me at the 73rd percentile, and my essay score however was really bad. Under normal circumstances I feel like I'm really good with words and written articulation, but thirty minutes to write a polished essay simply isn't enough time for me. My GPA was about 3.2 because I didn't take school seriously during my first degree (I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology)/was young and immature in my early twenties. Beyond that, I can't say what exactly interviewers look for, but to me I think a huge part of the selection process is the interview - as all of us already know, skills and clinical knowledge can be taught to just about anyone, but you can't teach someone how to be a leader, how to work well with other members of a team; and good work ethic can't be learned - you either have it or you don't. Those are things that can't be quantified in statistics.

I've got family all around Tampa and Orlando, and I chose Orlando. I was actually the very last person to walk in the presentation before it started, so I sat at the very back! I flew in at midnight the night before, and I didn't know how long it'd take me to get from the hotel to the school. I'm usually never ever late...

That's awesome, congratulations! I got an acceptance email as well, and I'm still in a state of disbelief. Man, they sure made us wait for it - I was starting to get discouraged!!

Hi there- no, I haven't heard anything back yet. It was mentioned several times that acceptance emails would be sent this week, and the week is halfway over. Fingers are still crossed!

What did everyone think of the quiz and interview this morning?? I kind of choked on the quiz, but I think my interview went well. Hopefully the interviewers think it went well also!
