Scrub brands and SIZING!?? Help!
Also remember that the 100% cotton ones will shrink! I hate scrub shopping too. A medium is too small and a large is too big ... I'm like Medium and 1/2 please!!! That being said I love Koi Lindsey pants. I am short 5' 3" but my legs are longer than a petite length and shorter than a regular length, but those pants are awesome because they have the cinchy thing on the bottom so the regular length isnt a problem. Koi tops I buy a large because they do run smaller. My favorite brand is Med Couture they are a nice soft stretchy fabric and they wash nicely and I can buy a medium that fits and I don't have a to get a huge baggy large. I am also busty so they are nice to show a feminine shape ... conservatively. Dickies Jr. Fit, Baby Phat, Ecko Red, Koi, and some Wink (all the young trendy brands) all run small so I cannot even get a medium over my chest, so I have to wear a large. Med Couture, Peaches, Landau, Dickies Missy, & some White Cross I can wear a medium in. Good Luck. My advice is go to a big scrub store with a wide selection and try several brands on before you buy online.

You can pass the NCLEX
Calm down, I know that if you are here reading these threads then you are anxious, I know because this was me a week ago and I stalked these threads looking for something NEW. I took my Nclex last week, and today I officially received my RN license in the mail Here is my opinion for whatever it is worth. If you made it through nursing school, you can pass the NCLEX. I believe that the test is about your thinking process, not what you know and what you dont know. YES ... you have to know nursing fundamentals, but hopefully you learned those in school. The test is full of trivial things, things you did not study, you can't study, you would never think of to study in a million years, and you get the answer by thought process, not by content retention. It is my best advice that you should do tons of questions, and read the rationales of the questions you got wrong, and try to understand why your thought process was wrong. If you haven't studied one already, study a critical thinking strategy. I read Kaplans didn't memorize it, but got the gist of it. Most importantly try your best to remain calm, focus on what you learned in school, not what you didn't. Take your time with the questions and go through a process of elimination with each question. Have faith that you have been equipped with the knowledge necessary to pass this test, because you have -- you just need to believe in yourself, and don't doubt yourself. I know this is easier said than done, but panic is not going to help. Remember you probably won't feel confident when you leave there, very few people do, but have faith in yourself. Yes, the PVT was accurate for me, and I did it about 20 mins after I took the exam! Good luck to everyone!

New NCLEX 2013 - California
Less than 24 hours to go. My anxiety is coming and going in waves. I've been doing question after question after question in a variety of different books. I took the Kaplan 265 quesiton practice test at the end of the strategies guide and got a 73% which from what I have been reading is pretty good. I am kind of slowing down now, and just reviewing the notes that I have made for myself as I have been answering questions. I will post tomorrow how things went, and what kind of result I got using the PVT. I am not sure I truly trust it. I have been telling myself that I will not do it, but I know I will. I am hoping I prepared enough!

thanks, I am so nervous!

What is the percent of passing NCLEX-RN with 75 ?s
I haven't taken it yet, but everyone I know that has, and has only had 75-90 questions or so has passed it. I don't know this for sure, but it seems that since it is a computer adaptive test and the questions can get harder or easier as you go along 76 questions is probably good. Since 265 is the max, 76 isnt even 1/2 of that and it seems that if you failed it would have given you more questions, to try to get you to pass. I could be wrong, but that is just my thought. Did you try the PVT?

Want to schedule but NO AVAILABLE DATES?
How funny teacher08, I was going to law school before nursing too, but then decided that I didn't think I had enough self discipline to do all the required studying for law school and went to nursing school instead ... yeah, yeah, yeah I guess you could say I didn't do much research before I made that decision. But I am here now, and HAPPY, I have no idea how I could have ever considered doing anything else ...

New NCLEX 2013 - California
Finally, after what seems like the longest journey ever I was able to schedule my NCLEX. I take it at the end of this month in California. I can generally keep my nerves under control, but the fact that I just went on an interview and was offered a job pending my passing the NCLEX and getting my license adds a little to the pressure. I have 5 days until I take my exam and I was hoping that maybe some of you can give some input. I have been a stalker of this site and these boards but have never posted. My strategy so far has been to just take as many questions as possible from everywhere. I have been using Saunders 5th edition, NCLEX 4000, I have a single disc with a 180 Kaplan assessment test on it. I have the board game RNtertainment that has questions on cards that I have been doing. I haven't really had any structure to my testing other than just do questions, and go back and read rationales of questions I missed. At my school we used ATI and before we graduated in June we took 2 different ATI predictors. I scored an 82% on one of those, and an 81% on the other. Studying for those predictors I probably took about 5000 questions. I didn't study while waiting for my ATT and my school took forever getting the proper info to the BRN, but I am a crammer and do well under pressure. I never did that well when I studied way in advance, or over study I tend to second guess myself then. Does anyone else out there have a similar studying style? Any recommendations? Also being in CA we do not have quick results here so I guess we have to rely on the PVT, but does anyone know how long it takes for your name and license # to show up on the BRN verify site? I've heard everything from 24 hours to 30 days. Any input is greatly appreciated!! Happy Studying to all!
