It's hard working nights with children. Technically you are home, but you are asleep while they are awake. Nursing homes pay more because you have a larger patient to nurse ratio and are on your own. You only deal with certain procedures and diagnosis at a nursing home. Your skills become rusty and you may not be in on the latest techniques or equipment. However, Nursing Home nurses are a special breed. They have more love and compassion than most. And, they have developed the skills necessary to deal with family members on an hourly basis.
