Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA
Thanks Africanbelle! Try the BON at 1-800-838-6828. The two times that I called someone picked up without prompts at all, and they have been polite and helpful. For status of paper fingerprint cards you can call 916-227-3835 and leave a detailed message and someone will call you back (they tell you what information to leave on the recording), then for livescan you call 916-227-4557 and give your ATI number and DOB. I am looking at my messy notes, so I may have the phone numbers mixed up but you'll be able to tell when you call. Hope you find out something soon!

Yay! I'm glad you got it prooxfordcomma! Time2go, I'm sure it's just a matter of time for you! What's everyone's plans? Are you already living in CA? I'm planning on moving in the next couple of months.

It made a difference, because I called the automated line at the DOJ and after I put in my information it said that my fingerprint results were sent to the board of nursing yesterday...I just had livescan done on Tuesday afternoon!

Rancho Cucamonga?
Africanbelle...I logged on Breeze and they have issued a permanent license number!

I sent all the paperwork in with fingerprint cards first, but since I hadn't heard anything I did livescan as well while I was out there. And just an update for everyone....I logged on Breeze just now and my permanent license number was issued today! So they cashed my check Mar 18 so that's 5 weeks and 3 days total.

Christiney, I just got back to IL from California yesterday and did Livescan while I was there. It's no problem at all. Make sure you have the forms and your driver's license!

Rancho Cucamonga?
I actually called and talked to someone on Monday to see if they could tell me if my fingerprint cards were ok. They were able to tell me that my transcripts and IL verification of license were both in and looked good (yay!!), and that my fingerprints were in but they weren't able tell me if they were good or not. So I went ahead and did livescan while I was there, and mailed the form to them. I also called the DOJ to check on the fingerprints but they had to call me back, and since I was on a time crunch I couldn't wait. So I'm pretty sure I should have my license in the next 1-2 weeks. One other thing...some of the surrounding areas of Rancho also looked decent except Fontana was questionable lol. Hang in there and let me know if you go and what you think. I was originally thinking July, but if I can go in June I'm going to go for it!

Rancho Cucamonga?
Hey! I just got back last night and I LOVED it!! Rancho Cucamonga is so beautiful and the weather was gorgeous! My niece and nephew are thriving there and my brother and his wife are doing so well. I drove out to Palm Springs on Monday, and to LA on Tuesday. The traffic was no joke but I handled it like a pro.

I would love to hear of someone whose check was cashed in Feb and has their license, because then that means I should be next! Flying out Saturday morning to visit!!

I went ahead and called, spoke to a fairly nice gentleman. He said that in my application the finger print section is still showing blank, but so are my license verification and transcripts. He said the reason for this is because the evaluators have stacks of applications on their desk and they aren't even looked at for the first few weeks after checks are cashed, and that they are done in the order they are received. I asked if it would be ok if I did livescan since I'd be out there visiting, just in case my finger print card is rejected and he said they don't advise that, because it's not often that the cards are rejected. I feel like I have to do it, because I'll be in a worse position by not doing it and say the cards end up rejected. Cards take 1-2 months while live scan takes 1-2 weeks! Uh....I think I'll take my chances at this point!! What do you all think?

Wow time2go, that is crazy! So basically it sounds like I should probably just do livescan when I'm out there in a couple of weeks, just to be on the safe side. I will call next week just to see if they know anything about my prints though. I really didn't think this process would go smoothly but I didn't think it'd be this bad either.

Time2go I'm jealous that you have a job lined up! You mailed yours in before us and did livescan, but your application isn't showing pending?

Prooxfordcomma that's awesome! The CBON website now says they are conducting initial evaluations on applications for which payment was cashiered in March. Well that's us! Seems like things are moving along because just a few days ago they were working on February. I'll definitely keep you posted!

Rancho Cucamonga?
Well, luckily it seems that things are moving a little better at the board than they were a couple of months ago. I have applied for some jobs but the ones I got responses from definitely want the California license which I totally understand. So I'm trying my hardest to be patient for now.

Rancho Cucamonga?
Africanbelle, I just received your PM but I haven't posted enough topics to send PM's yet, I better get on it!! :-) My brother and his wife and kids live in Rancho Cucamonga and they have been there since July 2013. I haven't visited yet, but I am going April 19-23!!! I'm glad you have decided to make the move. They REALLY like it there. The kids walk to school and both have improved academically since leaving IL. I mailed all of my application materials to the CBON on Feb 18, check was cashed Mar 18, and my endorsement is now showing "pending" on Breeze. I submitted the fingerprint card from my local police station which is the same as the ones they use, but I will need to know if my prints are good to go or if I will need to do livescan while I'm visiting. I am going to call the CBON next week to check on the prints. My plan is to move no later than July. I'm not sure that I'll be right in Rancho (too expensive!), but I will at least be within 20-30 miles.

I mailed all of my items including paper fingerprint card (that I got from local police station because BON took forever) Feb 18, check was cashed March 18, and my application now shows endorsement "pending" on Breeze. At this point, I have no clue if my fingerprint card will go through ok. I will be in California April 19-23 so hopefully I can find out beforehand if I need to do livescan while I'm there. If I had known I was making this trip I would have just waited.

Relocating to California
I have family in Rancho Cucamonga, so I would like to be within an hour of them. I've been looking at Victorville and Fontana specifically but I am open to most surrounding communities. I do not have a job yet, as a matter of fact I just mailed all of my application materials for endorsing my license a little over 2 weeks ago. A big concern is that my fingerprint card will get rejected, but I am planning on making a trip out there in April or May and I will do livescan at that point if I need to. I also plan to visit potential places of employment at that time. I understand the board of nursing is behind, which concerns me, but I am hopeful that this will all work out!

Relocating to California
Africanbelle I am in the same boat as you, except I do have some family out there. I am relocating with my children in July. I think it is possible for you, if it's really what you want to do!
