  1. I don't start til the 26th and am already freaking out :)
  2. You're never too old. I'm 35 and starting a new career after 10 years of human services work and some time in the military.
  3. I always remind myself that when a patient (or even a coworker) behaves like that, it's generally not something I did. They may be in pain or afraid or facing something else of which Im not aware. I just smile and ensure I do what I can to meet their needs. I reassure them it's ok to be angry but not to be abusive. It generally works and isn't perfect, but a smile and kind manner begets smile.
  4. I'm starting clinical in August, and I have been working full time. I was fortunate to snag a part-time job in a big health system here as an aide in a LTC facility. The money is helping me pay for school and supplies, plus, I want to work in the system when I graduate next May, so I have my foot in the door already. I know working and school is hard, but if you have to, then you do what you have to do.
