  1. Hello All, I was recently accepted into ECU's ABSN program for 2014, woohoo! It's a brand new program (they used to have an accelerated MSN program for second-degree students). I was wondering if those of us who were accepted could use this as a place to connect first. I have never lived in Greenville, so hopefully those Greenville-natives could give some tips on places to live, places to eat/hang-out, what ECU is like, etc. I am currently living in Winston Salem, and will probably make a trip out there within the next week to check out apartments, etc. Does anyone know of any good apartment complexes/condos near the nursing building at ECU, where I could possibly bike/walk to school, or take a shuttle? Thanks and I look forward to hearing from my fellow classmates!
  2. Thanks for your responses! I have seen the Hyde Ink tattoo covers before, which is probably what I will use if I don't get it removed. Do you all know if the concealer is waterproof? I'm wondering if that mode of concealment would work since my tattoo is very close to my hand (as in right on my wrist) and we'll be washing our hands a lot. I am still hoping to hear from someone from ECU too, so I can see the program's specific reactions to using bandaids/tattoo covers/heavy-duty concealer? Thanks for the input so far!
  3. I am hoping to discuss with some current or past ECU nursing students about ECU's tattoo cover-up requirements. I have a small inner wrist tattoo, and I was wondering if simply wearing a bandage on top to hide it would suffice? Some schools/clinical sites do not allow the use of bandages (I guess they're thinking that they could harbor bacteria?), especially so close to the hands, where it could interfere with effective hand-washing. I could try makeup, but I think I would just rather get laser removal if the program is going to be so strict as to prohibit bandages to cover it up. Can anyone tell me if they are/were in ECU's program and had tattoos? And how did you deal with it? Thanks!
  4. I've heard similar things from several other students in different departments, but I guess it's worth it since the program is pretty low cost, even if you don't receive funding. Thanks for the fair warning though!
  5. Hello, I just started a thread on this topic because I didn't realize there was one already started:/ Anyway, I will be applying as well. I am a Winston Salem resident, and I talked to someone in admissions, and they told me to not even bother applying because I have two prerequisites to finish this Fall, but I decided I will apply anyway since my grades/GPA are pretty good. What do you all think? Should I really not bother applying? Also, do you think the SAT scores are a true requirement? Seems pretty weird to me, especially since we already have degrees.
