What do you need when you start applying for RN positions?
Thought I would post this question ( really more of a comment and heads up) because I am feeling unprepared at the moment. I passed the NCLEX this month and started applying online and sent out a few app's directly to those I had either HR or unit manager's name for. I finally got a bite and the recruiter asked for two letters of recommendation (LOR) from clinical instructors and my transcripts. I did already have my transcripts. I had asked an instructor for a LOR at one time but as a student our instructors were not allowed to give these to us directly. We had to fill out a form, turn it in to the office and then that instructor would send something out to the employer... not us, and we would never see it. I just wanted one for my records, to have on hand, so I didn't pursue it any further at the time. So a word to those up and coming, if you have a great connection with any of your clinical instructors, ask them for LOR's right away if they are allowed to give it to you directly. I had no idea that anyone would ever ask for something like this but apparently some do. I have had one say she will write me one and 3 that have not gotten back to me yet. So it's kind of a "get it while their hot" situation. Don't wait until after your done with school and looking for a job. Hopefully this will help some of you down the road :)

NCLEX-RN: Will "Status" change when quick results are ready?
MexRnToBe, how long did it take for your license number to appear on your state site? I don't care all that much about when I will get the piece of paper but would like prospective employers to be able to validate my license number. I live in MI.

Can some share their readiness score before nclex
I took the NCLEX-RN on July 3rd. I had used Davis's with CD. From what I have heard from classmates, I wish I had used Kaplan's. Most of them passed with 75 questions. Me, I answered 215 when I ran out of time. I passed but didn't think I did. The PVT trick worked but I didn't entirely trust it. Got my quick results Saturday afternoon which confirmed it.

Thanks MexRnToBe, I got the link Saturday afternoon and it said I passed. It was surreal.

NCLEX-RN: Will "Status" change when quick results are ready?
Hi All, I took the NCLEX-RN on Wednesday, July 3rd at 2pm and answered 215 questions so I am very nervous. My exam did not end, I ran out of time. Probably 60% of my questions were SATA's and those take so much more time. I did the PVT and got the good pop-up but of course want to get my Pearson Quick results asap. In following the directions to get those, my "Status" only states "Delivery Successful". My question is, when the quick results are ready will there be an icon/button there?? The holiday may be holding things up. Thanks in advance :)
