Just wanted to mention that I passed my test!!!!! And have completed all the requirements for admission. Crossing my fingers that I get picked to start now in August! I'm ecstatic :))) lol.

If you have the book, all of that is covered in the Science section. It also has 3 exams for you to take of 60 questions each. Also, the CD that is included with the book has all the questions from all the sections for you to quiz yourself as well. I'm just worried about them covering other stuff that's not on there. I'm just really nervous, and I need to chill out because that was the main issue last time. I need to go in knowing that I'm going to pass this test. I'll be there at 7am tomorrow. Last time I got there late because of my son and traffic, and that also held me back from passing because I had about 15 questions to answer from the first section, that I was unable to answer correctly. Word of advice, get there early lol. Btw, I looked you up but noticed that there are a few other Ashley Febre on there lol. What does your default picture look like, or look me up.. Hello everyone, I'm so glad to hear that so many moms are going out of their way to better their futures for their children. It's funny how becoming a parent changes you almost 100%! The person you were before no longer exists, and a new person full of determination and want takes over. I currently finished all my pre-requisites to start Associates of Science in Nursing program at FNU, but before taking the next step, decided to apply at an intensive program at Mercy Hospital here in Miami, FL. I take their entrance exam tomorrow morning, and have my fingers, hands, toes, and feet crossed that I pass!! Has anyone on here taken the National League for Nursing Pre-Entrance Exam either for LPN or RN? If so, can you give me some advise on how to prepare for it? I took it once already, but since there's different exams available, I want to make sure I cover anything that may come up tomorrow. I'm soo nervous. Btw, I too am a single mom of a 5 year old (turning 6 in November) that I love so very much. He has made me who I am today, and has re-instilled in me that fire to move on and become someone. Not only for him, but for myself. I've managed to take and pass my GED test, as well as finish all my pre-requisites for Nursing all in exactly a year. I took my GED May of last year, and started school in June. If anyone has any feedback on that exam, please let me know. I'm super nervous and NEED to pass this test.

I've read in some posts that the book helps alot, and I've read in other posts that it only covers the basic. I took the test and can tell you one thing, it has a lot of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. You need to know your elements, atoms, protons/electrons, electrical charges, currents, what's a joule watt ampere etc, light waves, the basics about plants, what are the formulas in physics, the different reactions, cellular respiration, and some Anatomy & Physiology like the blood, respiratory system, different organ systems and their functions, etc. I'm sorry for the mess of information, it's just that I'm typing as I remember. They have 2 different exams if I'm not mistaken, therefore in one all of this could be covered, and in the other it could be completely different, but my own experience is all I can base myself on. I missed it by 8 points the first time, THIS TIME I HAVE TO PASS lol. Do you have a facebook? We can continue talking through there if you do. Hope this all helps :)

Hey Ashley, I'm currently studying for this test as well. I'm taking it tomorrow morning for the second time, because the first time I was short 8 points from their passes score. I also have the book this time around, which I wasn't able to get a hold of the first time; therefore I'm thinking that I should manage to make those 8 points without a problem. I'm nervous too. I don't get another chance to take the test if I don't pass tomorrow, so I'm crossing all fingers, toes, hands, and feet! lol

When I took the Kaplan at FNU, I noticed there were some Dosage Questions, so I'm going over conversions just in case. (Here's the link in case you want to take a look too lol: DosageHelp.com - Helping Nursing Students Learn Dosage Calculations - Dosage Question Steps) Decimals, percentages, ratios, fractions, etc. was on there too, so I'm thinking it will be in the NLN as well. Also, I'm not sure what the Science part consists of, BUT from what the Kaplan had, it might have a lot of A&P questions.

I won't be there that early, because I have to take my son to school; but I'll be there by 7:15 or so. What have you used to study? I'm studying as we speak! I'm going over math since that's where I have the biggest issue.

Not trying to "name drop" on here, but an alternate choice for me right now is Mercy Hospital's School of Practical Nursing and then a bridge program to their Nursing Program. Everything is done within one facility, and there are only about 90 students. They're deadline is in the beginning of May, and they don't require any pre-requisites. All you have to do is pass their NLN PAX-PN and within their program they give you A&P and Microbiology. It's an option, even though I've already done my A&P classes, but it's something to look into since I haven't entered a nursing program yet. Email me if you want @: [email protected]!! Good luck :)

To be honest, I just went in there and took it. The first time I got a 65%, and the second a 66%. Now that I'm hearing you mention that it has been raised to 75%, I don't know what I'll be doing. The school's nursing program has been on probation for a few years now, and that's probably why they're raising it's bar. Making sure that students getting in know more, therefore making classes easier for teachers to teach. I'm finishing right now Human Growth and Development & Communications, but still have Microbiology and Chemistry to go. I should be done with all my pre-reqs by ending of June. I'm still iffy about a few things. Don't know what my next step will be. Good luck missy!
