  1. Am I missing something or is assignment 2 for the week 5, like a combining the forum posts? Is there more to it? I backed up my post well with sources. What did you all do for this one?
  2. Yes I agree. So far so good. Would love to maintain this A. Hopefully the final exam won't be a killer.
  3. Wow, totally rocked week 2! Please tell me this is what I can expect the rest of the way if i Keep up this!
  4. Interesting, a response to a question on the forum asked was to follow the textbook in how it goes. I suppose if that is the answer that is the answer.
  5. When you comment on how you assessed, do you quote from the book or paraphrase? And can anyone check my sources I have been using (Weber, 2010) for paraphrasing, and (Weber, 2010, pp. 218). Or am I messing up by not having the 2nd name in my sources?
  6. Should we include we encouraged the patient to void prior to weighing?
  7. They worked for me. What browser are you using? I used chrome.
  8. Would the 9th edition work? Of ackley?
  9. Can I use Nursing Diagnosis Handbook 9th edition ? I had that for my previous classes. It says 10th is required for class.
  10. I put out a request to borrow one on fb and got one. Thank you. It's a good thing to get more familiar with these objects.
  11. Are these the current books needed? I found a posted syllabus somewhere, not sure how up to date it is. REQUIRED TEXTBOOKS: Required reading/materials: 1. Weber, J. & Kelley, J. (2010). Health assessment in nursing (4thed.). Philadelphia: Lippincott. *** Please note EBook does not have page numbers and previous students have preferred hardcopy due to the nature of assignments in the course***. 2. Weber, J., Kelley, J., & Sprengel, A. (2010). Lab manual to accompany health assessment in nursing (4th ed.). Philadelphia: Lippincott. 3. Ackley, B.J. & Ladwig, G.B. (2014). Nursing diagnosis handbook: An evidence-based guide to planning care (10th ed.). St. Louis, MO: Mosby. ISBN 978-0-323-08549-6 4. Nursing Bar-Chart Quick Study Series. ISBN # 1-57222-174-7 50395.
  12. I was going to ask about those tools required. Is there a way to do without buying an otoscope?
  13. Thank you! I am in research now! I hear you there! I wonder what I can add to the Assessment class. I read somewhere about the tools you needed to do the class, like a tuning fork, and an otoscope. Is there a way to do the class without it?
  14. Who else is taking it ? I hear it's a beast of a class. Can anyone give some solid direction? I decided to take it with no other class because the consensus on here is that it's the hardest one offered.
  15. Haha..disregard that is what I am taking. Assessment.
  16. I am taking it. I had thought I read it was the hardest class offered! I am glad to hear it is not the case!
  17. Congrats! I would love to ask you some questions via PM.
  18. I want to run! and i know it's great advice! I am not sure what I would do if I left without other work. Looking aggressively and willing to take per diem just to be starting somewhere.
  19. Unfortunately I am the bread winner for the family. Makes it hard to leave. Looking for a job now! I tried to be upfront and ensure to this person I don't know everything and am willingly open to feedback and advice.
  20. almost 3 months! and yes first job.
  21. I have tried to clear the air, accept anything as far as criticism. Everything she sees she goes to the DNS. There have been 2 fabrications so far. I cannot fight something that was did not happen. The question is: How do I explain any of this to future jobs? Don't I just look like the guy who could not hack it in a tough environment?
  22. I feel like a mess. A guy who: -generally gets along with everyone -starts at a job that pays the most money. -Backed out of 2 places because of a $4 dollar difference. -Was turned loose after 4 days, but was considered on orientation for 28 days. I -made a med error early on. -messed up some paper work that I had never been taught how to do. Gets put on a final warning. -Has a single night supervisor who is riding everything I do. What in the world should I do? I want to quit. This supervisor is all over everything I do. Is never positive. I sat down and talked to her and just let her know i was open to all the help she would give. Just trying to be the humble new guy. She is a newer grad too. But I am being ridden and it just feels like she is trying to find something. I go to work paranoid and having to watch my back about my own co-workers.
