AANP - Exam help/study suggestions
I just passed the FNP AANP last week and I would highly suggest utilizing the Leik book and also doing a bunch of practice questions from the APEA website (I did the Q-bank unlimited questions) and then I also did the AANP predictor exam as well. I found that it was set up just like the real exam so when I took it I just mentally pretended I was doing another practice exam (made me feel more at ease and I felt very prepared). Prayers for you and best wishes.

Failed ANCC
I just graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina where I completed the post BSN program (I was awarded both a MSN and a DNP). I live in Atlanta but only had to travel to campus in Charleston once a semester. I chose family nurse practitioner track. :) Thank you for the well wishes. :)

Thank you so much! I really do appreciate it! I am awaiting my authorization to test for AANP. Praying I can get it done 2nd time around!

Failed ANCC
Disheartened to say the least! I took the ANCC FNP exam Saturday and failed by ten points. I was surprised the exam had very limited clinical questions. Most of the exam was on leadership and management as well as tons of research questions. I was also shocked that I had multiple questions that required not just one correct answer choice but "pick the best 2 or 3 correct response-type questions!" I just signed up to take the AANP now and have to await a test authorization. I have a job that is waiting for me to pass this thing so please say a prayer for me! Good luck to those taking the exam.

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) - Anyone accepted to DNP Program for Fall 2011?
For me peronsally, I wanted to go ahead and get my "terminal" degree in nursing...personal goal. I am attending MUSC in the fall for the BSN to DNP program. We are awarded the MSN as well as DNP. I chose the family NP speciality. I know there is talk of all NP's by 2015 being required to have their DNP. Makes sense to just go ahead and get it done...but again, my personal choice. You are only 50...nowadays retiring at 56 is unheard of...you probably have another 20 years at least to work! lol Good luck with whichever route you go. :nurse::heartbeat:nurse:

RN license endorsement
Do you know how long GA takes to transfer your RN license?

Retaking NCLEX in another state
I put yes, I applied previously for Licensure and put the month and year...it helps b/c they will already have your school transcripts on file...

Retaking NCLEX in another state
I disagree with it being a waste of time...I too failed in GA and then retested 45 days later through SC...It only took SC four days to mail my actual license to my home...I already had known through quick results that I had passed 48 hours after I took the test...they have already filled my verification form out for Georgia and now I am just waiting for Georgia to approve the application I mailed yesterday; they tell me it will be posted online in a couple of days after receipt of the SC verification form.

took nclex 7/18- feeling nauseated
Just wanted to update everyone that I finally passed! It took two times to do it but I am finally a Registered Nurse! I am so excited. I will pray for each and everyone who is taking theirs next and/or who are waiting for their results. Don't give up! Have faith, and remember that "good things come to those who wait." This website has been such a blessing during this stressful time. I want to thank everyone and wish everybody the best. WOW what a great feeling to finally be able to say I am a nurse!!!

Retaking NCLEX in another state
Hi...I retested through SC on 7/18 b/c I live in GA and our waiting time is 91 days too. The process was simple. I filled out a SC license (printed through their website) and then had the school I attended send my transcripts and fill out one form SC requires...within one week I had my ATT. I am anxiously awaiting my results this morning. I am so nervous b/c I had all 265 questions the first time and the second time it shut off like at 175 questions...I can't imagine going through this torture of waiting again! I wish you luck and let me know if I can answer any more questions for you.
