Per diem frustrations
I've been doing for 10 months now and I will say around my 6 month mark I was ready to quit and would have if the job offer I revived wasn't such a low pay rate. I'm so happy I didn't I have a better flow with my visits and paperwork, and this job gives me so much freedom and flexibility you can't beat it! So stick with it there is light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Start of care orders
Wossaa I too have to verbally notify soc was completed and what plan of care is by speaking to an RN or MA regardless if I received orders from them. So I just ask to speak to MA/RN and if i get voice mail call back and and explain I need to speak to someone!

Pay Rate
I live 5 minutes away from PV so I'd prefer to work there. Well I may be getting ahead of myself... still have to hear back to even see if they want me lol! Thanks for your input

Pay Rate
Wow really that low I was making more than that right out nursing school. I'm currently doing home health don't want to say I don't like it its just a lot of take home work. When I'm off i want to be off not have to worry about a few hours of charting. Well if they offer me a job I hope it's more then that...otherwise i won't be able to take it

Scrubs Haven't found a good bag yet but I've heard diaper bags work well. I bought a plastic cabinet with 3 draws and a cleaning caddy and keep in my trunk.

New home health nurse. Advice/tips needed.
Be ready for alot of paperwork but don't get discourage it gets easier! I was reading your post and it totally reminded me of my situation. Just started hh in July came from hospital setting have about 4.5 yrs experience. HH is such a different world... much easier then hospital from clinical skills standpoint. Love the flexibility that comes with it! Some days I miss the hospital because when you done with your shift your done... this is definitely not the case with home health. Key is to stay as organized as possible and keep up with paperwork!!! Good luck :)

home health visit time frames
I feel like my visits are too short. Once I assess my patient and do vital signs, I'm not sure what else there is to do. I do education but I feel like I'm repeating myself and I feel like the patient feels the same way. Unless I have a wound change or need to check an inr, I'm done with everything in about 15 minutes. What am I missing???

OASIS FUN
I'm new to home health myself but the computer charting doesn't seem that bad. I've never seen paper charting but like I said it doesn't seem to horrible. I did paper and computer charting in the hospital it seems pretty similar just a lil more lengthy. We use the kinser program and our QA and director of nursing check out chasing and send back for us to correct. Hope that was somewhat helpful :)

What can I claim on my taxes?
My aunt says she claims a portion of her Internet bill. She sells Avon and she gets to claim a percentage of her bill since she must use it to submit her orders and communicate with some of her customers. So I'm going to ask my accountant
