first month first class down
well at first I was trying to read and read the chapters and then Id find myself doodling hearts and stuff somewhere and not even no what I read so I started making note cards on all the graphs in the chapters id go through and put all the vocab words on them to plus the sentence before and after them depending on what the sentence was before the vocab word I would do the two after it and I would do the same thing for all the italicized words and for the chapter objectives at the beginning of the chapter doing this I would end up reading most of the chapter and not have to read all the stuff that's not so important I would read the skills at the end of the chapters though and then I would take the note cards everywhere with me they are so easy to quiz your self with also my teacher said find the best time to study for you some people are night people and some are morning I thought I was a night person but I decided to give morning studying a shot and its way better I never realized how much better my notes were in the morning compared to the afternoon but I didn't do anything crazy just normal stuff there is a bunch of online quizzes that you can take to figure out what kind of learner you are just google what kind of learner am I and base you studying on your results it sounds dumb but it works

Start lpn school Sept!
yay congrats you guys I've been in a month and its been going by really fast nerves will go away the first couple day and i agree you should enjoy your time now not having to study...that being said reading up on some a&p and going over your fundamentals book will help a lot we were covering 8 to 16 chapters a week 8 chapters on a test at a time so getting a headstart may not be a bad idea if your schools anything like mine they do one lecture over the chapter and that's it no time to sit and talk about that one because we have 7 more to do so most of your learning will be you teaching yourself.....but its not that bad i psyched myself out about how it was going to be so hard and was relieved that my expectations weren't met don't get me wrong its tough but honestly i thought i wasn't going to make it past the first test

first month first class down
hey guys I haven't posted since the end on my first week about beginning last month but just letting you guys know were done with fundamentals passed with a 89 yay not an a but ill take that for all you people nervous if you read any of my other post you know I was super nervous but once you get in there the nerves go away I will say that weve already lost like 20 people BUT its soo doable as long as you keep the mind set that failing is not an option then you will be fine don't get caught up in with the people in class that want to blame everyone else because they cant make the grades your not there to help them. you are there for you and you alone yes its nice to make friends but make friends that are just as motivated as you are. also find out how you study best its not how long you study its the quality of the studying that you do. I was so upset because I made an 81 which is a c at my school and I had studied so much but instead of getting down I tried a different way of studying and I haven't made below a 90 since........now im off to clinicals Monday and im surprisingly not nervous.....yet im sure it will come Monday as I walk into the hospital and ill forget my name and where im suppose to go haha but still excited hope I get a good wtd dressing to change or get a chance to do a catheter and as dumb as it sounds im super excited about taking vital signs because I know I know how to do them lol WE GOT THIS GUYS stay focused on YOUR goals not others and you will make it ill try to let everyone know how clinicals are ..... if I get a chance nursing school problems lol

Hey! I just started school Monday and I'm 23 with an 8 month old kid also I haven't been in school in 5 years and have anxiety it's not that bad and the average age of my class is 27 but there are people 40 to 50 in there too and only like two people who just got out of high school so no way are you to old your never to old to go to school!!! What should I do before the LPN program begins?
I just started school Monday and everyone feels the same way I promise but if you wanna get ahead start reading your fundamentals book you'll probably start with that just basic nursing read the whole chapter including the boxes and skills labs the homework and quizzes we had this week most of the questions came from the boxes and skills labs also most of the questions are scenario type questions so practice doing those and read carefully one word could change the whole question and be ready like I said I'm just a week in and we have a test Monday over 9 chapters!! But try not to get yourself to worked up (like I did lol) once you get through the first maybe the second day it'll be like ok it's just school and remember you can do this all you have to do is try

Good luck you guys and ill try to update as much a possible also I advise reading up on clinical thinking a lot of questions are scenario type question which can be confusing preety much all the answers will be right but you need to know the best answer in the situations
