St Louis University Acute Care NP
My GPA was 3.7 and I've been an ICU nurse for 8 yrs now - I also have my CCRN. 2/3 of my references were a week past deadline, so I wasn't sure if that would make a difference - apparently not. (Don't ask docs to your reference letters Good Luck. I will say it took them 10 weeks for an answer and not the 6-8 weeks stated on the website, but maybe that was out of the ordinary.

Do you pull sheeth from PT while Integrin is running?
At our facility, once a stent is placed the cardiologist sometimes wants the integrilin to infuse for 12 - 18 hrs after PCI. We can pull the sheath while on Intregrilin. We check a ACT for the Heparin. A few times (in 8 yrs) I have called the doc because the site would still ooze and he would dc the Intregrilin.

SLU Fall 2013 ANP Program
I have a lot of coworkers going to USA, but didn't read the greatest comments on this forum regarding their organization and support. But I personally know 2 people who graduated from SLU and they said , it was hard, but they felt prepared for boards. That sold me. To any of you who are in, PM me if you want to discuss it. I'm starting off with Research. :)

Staffing & Patient Acuity
We are pretty spoiled. We staff post op hearts 1:1 for a while. Ex: come in at 1300 extubated at 1500 and then they are 1:1 until the next morning. We are in the process of revamping a bit and I'm sure that will change. We operate on a lot of high risk people who are pretty sick for a while though...
