RN Private schools in Buffalo area?
Just so you know, Trocaire is uber pricey for the degree you get.

Anyone in Niagara /Buffalo, NY ?
Boils down to greed in my opinion, they got their tuition out of them (twice if they repeat) so who cares.

Anyone in Niagara /Buffalo, NY ?
I'm currently in the RN program at NCCC, but have decided to switch to the LPN and work while I attend school for something else. It's a good program..however, it's a bit disorganized at times (to put it nicely). Personally I think they are accepting waaaay to many students (250 or more at a time when you factor in re-admits, where other schools accept approx 20-40) and cannot accommodate them all so they do serious "weeding out". Many of the instructors are good and happy to help and answer questions...a few of the others, well, don't waste your time. I'm sure this is the case for most schools though. Good luck on your LPN.

Cone biopsy, bad experience
Yes, it's the same procedure.

Cone biopsy, bad experience
AMEN!! Plus I had a LEEP performed prior to the cold knife...I seriously doubt it was that much worse. Honestly...that thought has ran through my head quite a bit, especially given how hostile(and cramped up) I felt when I was coming out of it.

Cone biopsy, bad experience
My only complaint is the amnesia and lack of info given to me about the med. In regards to how I felt on it..well, I honestly have no clue. Perhaps it depends on the dose. ::shrug:: Thanks for the response, I will definitely talk to my primary about adding it to my profile..I don't want it anywhere near me..ever again.

Cone biopsy, bad experience
Sorry, but I really need to vent.. A few days ago I had a cone biopsy and was given Versed "to help me relax" and was not informed of it's lovely amnesia side effects, just figured I'd feel kinda doped up during. I feel very mislead, angry and violated. The procedure was scheduled with very little notice so I didn't really have time to research the sedative, and what info I did come across really didn't mention the memory effects (naturally after the fact I find tons). The drug will make you "feel drunk" ...yeah, my a**! The first thing I remember feeling afterwards was panic and confusion..and it's extremely unsettling. I mean it's one thing if I'm asleep ..but if not, I want to have the ability to remember what has happened to me...or at the very least be given the right to make an informed decision. This is the first surgery I've ever had and I can honestly say my experience was not a positive one! Just curious how do most people usually act when under the influence of this drug? (this was definitely a time I wish I was already in nursing classes, perhaps I would have at least heard of this stuff before hand.)

Niagara County Community College
I have to admit that Keys post has me a tad worried, I've heard similar stories from other students in the program.

Niagara County Community College
]Hey everyone, I am planning on attending NCCC this fall for nursing (extended track) and was wondering if anyone who has gone to school there can give me the heads up on what to expect. What are the instuctors like? and what area hospitals are used for clinicals? Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

Your Worst Mistake
Honestly, I gotta say after reading some of this, I'm really starting to reconsider my choice...I am planning on going to nursing school next fall. More and more I am thinking radiology is a better idea. :uhoh21:

How do You deal with Man-Hating Female Nurses?
Do you always add the sexual orientation when talking about your professors? (for example: "My heterosexual anatomy professor was so brutal, he was on my *** constantly!")...doubt it. I was reluctant to respond, but couldn't resist. Actually it's funny like two days ago I was talking to someone about how I hope there are some male students in my nursing classes when I enter the program..due to the fact for some reason I usually get along with them better. Negative experiences happen with people of all sexualities, in my experience the women who bash men are usually the ones dating them...I mean if it doesnt effect me, why should I complain...ya know? Don't get me wrong she may have had issues...but her being a lesbian is irrelevant. Just as it is with the instructor you had a good experience with. Just had to get that off my chest. -Allison (A future non man-hating, openly lesbian, nursing student)

Should nurses return to wearing uniforms?
I am not currently a nurse..but I am planning on going to nursing school this fall. About the hats... Personally the caps seems really outdated to me...and wouldnt be practical. My hair is a couple steps above being completely buzzed...so securing one on my head would be pretty interesting. Not to mention I view them as being rather demeaning in this day in age....however thats just my opinion. :)
