UNCC vs. CPCC vs. CCHS vs. Queens - anybody in Charlotte?
Hi damaranicole, did you apply/get in anywhere? I'm a student at CPCC right now and I'm planning to apply to our ASN program for the spring, and to UNCC's BSN for Fall 2014. If you don't mind sharing what was your GPA like when you applied?

Anyone gotten into nursing programs at UNCC, Queens University, or App State?
Hi jlw310, I'm a student at CPCC and I'm finishing up pre reqs this year to apply for UNCC's SON Fall 2014.. I was just wondering if you ended up getting accepted or not? Either way I'm wondering if you mind telling me what your GPA was when you applied and if you had any of the other application considerations? I'm just wondering if my application will be competitive enough.

UNCC acceptance letter, Fall 2011
Hey pha_deeuncc and cbrush, I was wondering what your gpa was when you got accepted and if you applied from pre nursing or not? I'm currently a student at CPCC and i'm planning on finishing my pre-reqs this year and applying to upper division nursing fall 2014.. I'm wondering what my chances of getting in are, like what a competitive gpa would be and what not. I'm nervous about applying because I haven't done any pre-reqs at UNCC, is that a big factor to them? I plan to find a job as a CNA so I can have the 50 hours of direct patient care.

Charlotte area ADN Programs Help?
So you did pre-professional at CCHS? I am doing a CNA course there starting June and the staff seems really nice from what I've seen. Even if I have some pre-reqs done I should try for pre nursing instead of pre professional? I know I have to take A&P 1 and 2 still so I guess I'll be in one of the 'pre' programs for at least 2 semesters anyways. I think I'm just wondering if I did pre-nursing or pre-professional in the Spring would I be able to start the Nursing curriculum the following Fall? Thanks for responding!

Carolinas College of Health Sciences Pre-Nursing/Nursing
Lol! Wow that's a really good GPA. I get what you're saying, but after completion of the 2 Pre-Nursing semesters are you *required* to have an 'off' semester? Or if your GPA is one of the higher ones in your Pre-Nursing class can you gain admission for the semester starting next? I hope that makes sense... for example, if I were to start Pre-Nursing spring 2014, and finish in summer semester, is there any way that I could gain admission to the Fall 2015 Nursing class? That's weird that only your class had that happen to them, where more got the GPA needed than there were spots available but at least everyone ended up getting accepted in the end. I really appreciate your help and hope I'm not bugging you with all my questions

Carolinas College of Health Sciences Pre-Nursing/Nursing
That was really helpful, thanks for responding!! I am taking my CNA course this summer to get it out of the way and I've done all the pre-reqs except Micro, and A&P 1/2. I'm hoping to be admitted to Pre-Nursing Spring 2014.. if you don't mind sharing can you tell me what your GPAs were and SAT/ACT when you got into Pre-Nursing? I'm just wondering if I'm competitive enough. Also as far as gaining admission to Nursing after Pre-Nursing, do they just rank Pre-Nursing students according to GPA? THANK YOU again :)

Calling all CPCC 2013 Applicants!
Hi everyone- Congrats to all that are in CPCC's nursing program! I'm currently a CPCC student and I'm planning to apply for Spring 2014.. for those who don't mind sharing, can you please tell me your TEAS V scores and the amount of prereqs you had completed when you applied? I have 4 of the 7 completed and I'm wondering if I have a shot? Thank you!!

Carolinas College of Health Sciences Pre-Nursing/Nursing
Hi RunnerRN, I am planning to apply to CCHS for Spring 2014.. but I haven't decided yet if I want to apply for Nursing or Pre nursing. If I apply as Nursing and I'm not accepted, will they automatically consider my application for Spring pre-nursing? Do you have any tips? Also it sounds like you did pre-nursing.. do they have a summer semester and if so, would I be able to start in spring, do the summer semester, and then (hopefully) start the actual Nursing curriculum Fall 2014? Sorry for all the questions:)

Charlotte area ADN Programs Help?
Hi everyone, I am new to allnurses. I have some questions about the ADN programs in and around Charlotte NC. I'm currently a student at CPCC and I was accepted to the Respiratory Therapy program for Fall 2013 but recently have become more interested in Nursing.. I'm looking at nursing programs at CPCC, Carolinas College of Health Sciences, and Cabarrus College of Health Sciences and planning to apply to all for spring 2014. I was wondering for people who have been accepted to any of these schools... 1: how competitive are the schools, and 2: (if you don't mind sharing)what was your HS/college gpa, Teas V scores, SAT/ACT scores etc. I also am interested in Pre-nursing at Carolinas/Cabarrus mainly because of the 'guaranteed' acceptance to nursing if completed successfully.. but if I were accepted for pre nursing in Spring do they do a Summer semester as well, which would possibly allow me to start the actual Nursing curriculum in the Fall? Is Pre-nursing any less competitive than Nursing? And if I applied to Nursing and am not accepted, would they automatically consider me for pre-nursing? THANK YOU :)
