  1. I also love Lexi-Comp. They have an anesthesia & critical care drug guide that is loaded with so much useful information. If you work in critical care, I'd highly recommended it.
  2. The hospital I worked for in the past did not allow cellphone's of any sort. We even had to sign that we acknowledged we were informed of the policy and agree to abide by it. Apparently there was an issue in the ER where a PCT took a picture of a patient and the patient found out and was not happy about it. Personally I thought it was a stupid policy that punished all of the hospital staff for the stupidity of one person. I have the Iphone and it has a some great drug guides as well as applications that can calculate drip rates. This comes in extremely handy when you are assuming care of a patient on multiple drips and you want to just want to double check everything quickly during report. I can't see how it's a HIPPA violation to actually have a cellphone. I would ask your co worker to specifically tell you what literature this violation is cited it.
  3. Hello, I am scheduled to do a few clinics with Summit. I also do immunization clinics with Mollen. From what I experienced so far, Summit appears to be a very professional organization. Yes they do ship the vaccines to you and you are responsible for them. You may or may not have to run the clinic by yourself. It all depends on the amount to people they are contracted to give the vaccines to. The smaller clinics will only have 1 nurse. Once you get hired they will send you a welcome kit with a name tag and will give you information on purchasing a lab coat. You can purchase a lab coat with their logo for around 27 dollars.
  4. I have finished all my classroom work and am starting my 8th week with a preceptor tomorrow. I am working on the pediatric float team at the childrens hospital, so I get training on all the units in the hospital. Last week I was in the NICU and this week I start my training in the PICU. Things are going well, and I really like the hospital I am working for. I hope everyone has a good experience as well. Good luck everyone!! John
  5. Well just a quick update. I got the job. I will be working in St. Joseph's Childrens hospital starting May 9th. I am so excited I will be able to work in pediatrics. I did my practicum in peds and loved every minute of it.
  6. Well I did 2 interviews today with 2 different ped's hospitals and I feel good about both of them. They both told me that I should hear something in about 2 weeks. I can't wait for the response!!! Thanks everyone for the support.
  7. I will have an interview this Thursday at a Peds hospital in my home state. Hopefully I will have the same luck both of you had.
