Hey guys!! Has anyone heard from Chula Vista L&D or Grossmont NICu? It's for a friend. She was told calls were being made last week but hasn't heard anything.

Nvm just got an email saying they are not taking any alternates. Bummer.

Heard anything new kkdj? I haven't heard anything specific from Scripps, but I am taking a class right now and somebody in the class said they know of three people who had to drop out of the program because they didn't get their ATT and couldn't take the NCLEX. So I feel bad for those people but maybe that is good for us??!

Yeah I did the background check too. How do you know what alternate you are? Did it tell you in the email. Waiting again sucks.

No I haven't. Have you? She said in the email that we probably wouldn't hear anything til the last minute which kind of stinks. Do you know how many people are alternates? Or do you know anything? She have me no information except sit and wait and I don't want to call and bug her, because she probably doesn't have any info. Please keep me posted if you hear anything and I'll let you know of I do too!

Me too kkdj. I am really surprised to randomly get the email. I wonder when we will hear back or when the deadline is for the other candidates. Crossing my fingers too!!

They called this morning and said no. It's so frustrating. She said apply again cuz it's great I made it this far but I don't even want to go through this process again. Oh well I guess. Congrats to everyone else! Maybe you all can give us some tips and let us know how it goes.

Oh and was your offer for Grossmont or Memorial?? @Heckysolano And I think they mentioned the start date was February 17 or 21? I can't remember exactly.

Congrats Heckysolano!! Did they give you any other information? That is crazy that you interviewed for acute but got hired for PCU. I wonder if its because all of us that interviewed for PCU had bad interviews or something. What time did they call? Did they mention if they were calling everyone today? I'm sure they would contact everyone on the same day. Bummer for me. I'm gunna assume this is a no for me. Just wish they would call saying no so I don't wait around anymore with my hopes up:/

This was my last shot as well Mellowyelloww. I graduated in April, however, I will have more than 6 months experience as a RN by the next round. I am in that hazy area where I have experience but not enough. My advice would be to apply out of state. I know thats not easy because I have been stubborn about it too, but it is a lot easier to get hired. If I don't get hired at Sharp, then time to say goodbye to San Diego/CA.

gikg--I interviewed for Grossmont PCU last week. I thought we would hear back by Friday but they said no later than Thanksgiving. Hopefully they will notify either way. Congrats to everyone that is getting hired. Sharp is very hard to get into and I personally have no idea how they chose. Plus their interview was hard! I thought I was so prepared and then again did not do well. It is hard to stay positive when it's something you want so bad but are rejected. Has anyone else heard anything?? Wow HRK333 I'm so sorry. They got back to you fast. It is so hard to receive bad news from something you want so bad. I may be in your shoes in a couple days. I am super nervous now because I really never know what they are looking for. And people say they felt they had great interviews yet are not getting hired. Just keep your head up and remember that everything happens for a reason even though at the time it sucks!! Thank you for keeping is updated though and hopefully they will respond to your email and give you advice. Again I'm sorry you received bad news

Ahh good luck to you guys that have had your interviews!! I have mine tomorrow and am so excited because Sharp is truly where I want to work. That is great that they are making decisions quickly. I am going to be so anxious to hear back!! Thanks for sharing all the info also! This process is never fun and very stressful. We all work so hard in school and it's frustrating that it's so hard to get hired in the hospitals. I'm hoping somehow I can stand out tomorrow and make a good first impression. Since they already narrow done the applicants so much you know everyone is very qualified!! I have know idea how they decide who to choose!

Wow your interview is going to be an hour!! That's crazy but good that it's so in depth. I bet you get a tour also!! Good luck to all the NICU and L&D people!! I hope they let everyone know soon after interviews since they aren't interviewing that many!! Anyone else have interviews next week?? There are not many people on this board.

Barf lol. But glad it's over!! I really hate interviews!! I felt it went better than last time but still didn't feel I made a great connection with any of them. I interviewed with a panel of 3. I wonder how they decide who gets 3 and who gets 4 hmmm. Well I hope everyone did better than me. I got a couple of positive comments but just felt like I lost there interest. Oh well hopefully my interview next week is better. And hopefully we all get good news by the end of next week!! Hard parts over now we just sit back and wait. Good luck to everyone!!

We'll...I didn't bring a portfolio, I stumbled a lot with my responses and said um a lot, I didn't really bring up their values or mission statement, and I only asked like one question at the end. They threw me off cuz they didn't know much about the program so they said to ask the person who checked us in. And by that point I already knew I didn't do well that I didn't/couldn't think of other questions to ask. I was just not very confident and when I messed up a question early it was hard to recover. Hopefully this time I will be more prepared and relaxed. It's hard when you want something so bad. But everything happens for a reason!!

Haha I love that video!! Mine is at 8am . I'm usually not too nervous but I butchered my interview last time. And wow hopefully they end up hiring more than 40!!! What time is your interview??

I'm sure you did great CaliRn13! You must be relieved that it is over, but now anxious to find out! Did they say when they will be making their decision? Or how many they were hiring/interviewing? I'm gunna ask at my interview but am just so curious! How many did you interview with? Do you remember what units/hospitals? I hope you interviewed with a place you are really interested in, although I'm sure you would be happy with any place! Hope everybody's interviews are going good! Let's hope they hire a bunch a new grads and we all get good news before Thanksgiving!!

I'm nervous and my interview isn't until Friday LOL But you are going to do great CaliRN13!! Be prepared for it to be kinda loud, but otherwise it is very laid back and they are super nice. I wonder how many they are interviewing and accepting??! Hopefully we will hear back before Thanksgiving and won't have to wait very long. I hate the waiting game! But good luck to everyone!! Wow gikg! I'm so sorry that you didn't get an interview. But don't give up! Everything happens for a reason and there is something out there for you! It is so competitive and I don't think anyone knows or understands how they choose people. Good luck and keep applying! ncaRN35- You cannot reschedule an interview with scripps. I think they mention that in the email! Unfortunately they interview several people and just assign a date and time that you have to make work. However, if the other interview absolutely cannot be rescheduled you could always call and ask, and maybe they can work with you. Maybe you will get lucky and they will have another slot open or something. Good luck! Hope it works out. It would suck to have to pick which one to attend.

Thank you guys! I am very excited. I have always wanted to work for Sharp, although now I think it is the hard part in nailing the interview. SD_RN13 I thought your first choice was Memorial? I know that each hospital contacts at different times so there is still hope! ADEcstatic, don't worry about all the questions, because I was asking a lot last time because I never got an interview either. I actually went to school in Las Vegas for my ABSN, so none of my clinicals were with Sharp.; however, I am from San Diego. I received a 4.0 GPA. I am CPR/BLS, PALS, and ACLS certified. I volunteered for about 9 months on a L&D unit during school. I am currently working as a RN for a Pediatric home health. I previously worked for Sharp, but only for a couple of months as a Clerical Assistant. I am not sure what they look for in candidates when they screen our resumes; however, I think it is very important to apply ASAP. I think I got my resume in, along with the supplemental questions, within 15 minutes. Hope this helps a little and good luck!!
