  1. blue1015 have you heard anything? I'm looking to apply to their next start date in February.
  2. So I have actually submitted my first application :). I am currently working on my first nurse residency application now. There are quite a few whose application period hasn't opened yet. Has anyone else who is graduating in December started applying? Any word back from employers?
  3. No problem. Also if you submit an email on their website, they're really good about updating the list and adding any suggestions or new programs to their list :).
  4. @amoLucia Thanks :) & no problem..
  5. Congrats on the offer. 5 years is a long time. That is the first I am hearing of such a long contract; usually 3 at the most (which is still long). I would definitely consider the pros & cons. What are the penalties for not keeping the contract? Have you been able to view any of the other nursing residency programs? I would probably compare & contrast with some others. You can check out onestopnursing list for other programs Nurse Residency | ONESTOPNURSING Good luck :)
  6. Are you a recent grad? And if so, did you apply for a nurse residency program in Orlando?
  7. Hey, hopefully your other submissions/interviews went well. If you're interested in some other residency programs, you can check on onestopnursing Nurse Residency | ONESTOPNURSING to see if there any ones you haven't already applied to or is close by. Good luck.
  8. Did anyone get accepted into the summer residency program? Also I came across some more nursing residency programs on onestopnursing, I thought I'd share the list: Nurse Residency | ONESTOPNURSING.
  9. I will be graduating in December and I have already started looking for nurse residency programs. It is a little time consuming to try and go hospital to hospital websites to locate rn new grad programs. I wanted to share two websites that have been helpful. Indeed search 'new rn grad' or 'recent rn grad' and try OneStopNursing residency list: Nurse Residency | ONESTOPNURSING. That's probably the best list I come across thus far. I hope this helps. Good luck job hunting :)
  10. I know this post is pretty old but I was wondering what is everyone's locations.
  11. p.s. I have also joined the facebook page and mentioned housing on the spread on there.
  12. Hello to All Potentional, Future, & Current LC Students: I will be officially attending LC for the ABSN starting this Fall of 2014. I am moving from out of state. Like many of you, I will not be working in the program but using loans & savings to fund tuition and living costs. I was wondering if anyone is in the market for a roommate. There is a site called RoomSurf linked through Facebook which allow students to find roommates. When I initially signed up, Louisiana College wasn't on there. However I sent the administrator a school request and LC has since been added. If you or know of anyone who will be living off campus and may want a roommate, can you spread the word? I figure this might a little safer way to find a roommate. Thanks

  14. @Geauxtigers Thanks for the update. I'll look into speaking to a realtor to see if I can get any advice. Also do you know if riding a bike in that area is safe?
  15. @hopefulrntob I am from Chicago. Yes I will be attending. I spoke with Liz and I don't have precise information about orientation. I do know that we will have to be on campus at least a week prior to classes starting on the 25th of August, I believe. If you don't already have BLS for Healthcare Providers, you'll complete the course during that week as well. I'm done with all of my prereqs. I will have to take the 2 courses from LA College over the summer.
  16. @hopefulrntob Thanks & congrats too. Are you from the area?
  17. @geauxtigers13 thanks for the update; I'm in Chicago and I've been looking online for apartments as well. @gatorgirl4 can you also post your results on here? Thanks :) @Chasen888 welcome aboard
  18. @ Loma, have you figured out what you're going to do about housing?
  19. @ Gatorgirl4 - I am unsure whether or not there will clinicals on the weekends; canursehopeful may be able to tell us @ canursehopeful - Did you live on campus for housing? If not, in what area? Also which hospitals are the clinicals at? Thanks :)
  20. Congratulations on all who got accepted and who will be attending. I just read that the school was reaffirmed, woohoo :) So that is something you don't have to concern yourself with for the duration of the program.
  21. @Loma Congratulations. Sorry for the late reply. Recalling from the interview I had last year, it was very general and informal. It was more like the Dean explaining the program. Answering any questions you had. I don't recall any specific questions to us individually. Maybe why that program. Good luck.
  22. @geauxtigers13 That's good. Also the SACS went out in October and it's in December when their decision will get made and go public. I believe the college will also do their first round of interviews sometime this month. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you're out of state, you'll have the option of doing it over the phone or on Skype (it'll be a group interview as well). Good Luck :)
  23. @NadaHin maybe we can switch spots :) I got in for the Spring 2014 but I want to wait until the Fall 2014 cohort to start.
  24. @tracyslei My gpa from my first degree from 08' wasn't that good so I used my last 60 credit hour stats to get in which is 3.58 gpa. I received the following: English B Psch A Nutrition A Statistics A Chem B Anat & Phys B Micro B
