  1. As a CNA I whose primary level of experience for the past 18 years has been in long term care, I know exactly what she is writing about. It is a continual source of frustration with all of those issues going on. But, as bad as Ive had it, I truly had no idea, that the nurses I worked with had it that much worse. I can understand now why the nurses were always at the desk charting, and why the nurses were unable to just drop everything and come when I would let them know about a bruise. She is right when she said that "compassion is not time efficient", and now that I am preparing to return to school, this article makes me pause. I am glad for the insight though, because I don't want to be blindsided and out of all of the options available, I now know what direction I am headed in. Thank you.
