Georgia Highlands Fall 2013
A fellow allnurse friend has started a facebook page for nursing "Class of 2015"....nationwide student nurses, nice networking... If you're interested in joining send me a private message and I'll give you the info to join the page. It'd be a nice way for us all to get to know one another better before school starts. :)

Georgia Highlands Fall 2013
Hey - I have a nursing fundamentals textbook that someone gave me, studying a Clinical calculations book, and Mosby's "Tour Guide to Nursing School - A Student's Road to Survival Kit" (I found 1 edition older than the newest edition and paid about $3 on ebay). My biggest concern is having the clinical calculations down pat so I don't have to take a lot of study time on that once the semester starts.

@followingyourheart - Am I remembering correctly that you are in the Woodstock or Canton area?

Georgia Highlands Fall 2013
Darn...I forgot to ask when our classes begin - does anyone know? I so hope to squeeze in a nice vacation beforehand :)

Georgia Highlands Fall 2013
If I'm remembering correctly, it seems like Ms Frazier said to count on 4 days a week - all dependent on what class schedule each of us ends up with. Hope someone else is more clear on this than I am..

Congrats to everyone...!!! I'm in the Woodstock area, close to Holly Springs. Hopefully some of you are over this direction so we can get a good study group close by one another :)

Awesome!! I'm a very non-traditional student as well. Started pre-reqs at 48, just turned 50...and anxiously waiting to find out (hopefully tomorrow!) if I'm accepted into the nursing program I applied to. All of my children are grown and I am a proud "Nanny" to 3 beautiful young grandchildren. :) Happy to have found this thread...I've not encountered one rude age-related comment or look since I've returned to school but it is nice to know I'm not alone!

Hoping this is the big week...and we all get good news in our mailboxes :)

The waiting period
Applied in March, and should find out within the next week or so. Since I'm not talking any classes this summer, I'm being optimistic and preparing as if I'm for sure starting in the fall. Clinical Calculations practice, Foundations of Nursing textbook reading (just hitting the high points!)...stuff like that. I'm scared if I don't stay sharp that by the fall I'll be a complete dunce and out of practice with studying...lol
