  1. Hi everyone! I have worked on a post partum unit doing couplet care for 2.5 years now (it was my first nursing job right out of college) I feel like I am ready to learn something new & have a new challenge at work. I am very interested in working in the NICU and was wondering if anyone could shed light on the pros/cons of working at a delivery hospital (like the one I work at now) with transitional care nurseries & lower level NICU's, v. a childrens hospital with a level 4 NICU. I am worried the level 4 NICU may be a too overhwhelming for me -_- Thanks in advance! (:
  2. Check out thedailyhiit.com, it's awesome. They have workout videos, challenges as well as tips and recipes for healthy eating
  3. I would really recommend the ebooks. I initially did not think I would like them, and opted for hard copies. They were a constant hassle for me, mostly because I am always running around to school work and staying at my boyfriends house. I was always trying to remember which books I might need while I was away from home and which ones I needed to bring to class. Thankfully one of my classmates shared his kno username with me, so I now have all the ebooks on my iPad. It is absolutely amazing, they are laid out just like the textbook, and I don't have to remember a million things, everything is right there on the iPad. If you don't really need to flip through the pages or physically write and hi-lite, they really are a life saver.
  4. You could always just take the nclex, and then go back to school when you start working, and just finish up your bachelors, you could probably do it in a year or less.
  5. Most jewelry stores can do this. I'm not certain of the cost, you could always call around
  6. I am feeling the same way! I think about it all the time, I'm worried I won't have time to see my family and boyfriend in between school and work, I'm worried about the workload, clinicals, and everything. It's like going I high school the first day and not knowing what to expect. I start August 19 and have orientation next week. I feel like I'm not prepared, even though I've made lists and double checked them to make sure I have everything I need. This summer felt like it flew by!
  7. Hahaa no they aren't typically, just name brands like Vera Bradley who take advantage of people. However, they're a lot bigger than they look! And they have tons of pockets on the inside, great for organizing all the stuff that is girls feel the need to carry around.
  8. I have the older version of the weekender bag, it's a large bag, I used it and a back pack when I went on a week long vacation and it held mostly everything I needed. It may not be the best option for school, as it is intended to be more of a travel bag. Also, if you're going to carry a lot of books in it, I think it would get heavy and awkward to carry, since it only has a single shoulder strap and smaller hand grips handles. You may be better off with a tote bag, something like the Vera, I have one of those and it's amazing!
  9. Hello everyone! I'm straying nursing school in August, my program has given us an option for normal textbooks, ebooks, or both.i was able to buy ll of the textbook from a graduating senior for 500, but I was considering purchasing the ebooks for my IPad from the bookstore for another 500. Do you think this is worth the money, or should I just stick with the regular books I already have? Thank you!
  10. They look at the adjusted individual score. The national rank is just to give you an idea of where you stand in comparison to others who have also taken the TEAS.
  11. Congratulations to anyone who applied to the concurrent programs and got accepted! (:
  12. One of the girls in my grouped asked how they weight the interview and other aspects of your application. They said that the committee has some sort of formula that they use to create a score based on each aspect of the application ( grades, TEAS, interview).
  13. My interview was at 300, there wasn't anybody who scheduled an interview and didn't show up. So it looks like its going to 120 out of 182.
  14. I have my interview at 3. I am so nervous! I wish I had chosen an earlier time, just to knock it out and get it over with!
