Just wanted to let you know that i live in Ca and the first time that i took the nclex it took them 7 weeks to send me my results. I had to call the board of ca a couple of times before they sent it to me.

I live in california and when i took the nclex the first time it took them 6 weeks to send my results to me. Good luck if you haven't already heard.

I just got through taking my nclex test. My test shut off at 104 questions. I had labs (know your serums, hematocrit, potassium, hemoglobin, platelets and white blood count). I had math. There was alot on cva's and congestive heart failure. I got 2 check all that apply. I didn't get any diagrams or there is now place in correct order which i did not get any either. I don't know if you have a barnes and noble where you live but they had a cd-rom on how to prepare for the nclex and how to relieve your anxiety before the test. I did not get it but my friend said it has very helpful hints on how to weed out the wrong answers. I didn't get it only cause i didn't find out about it until 2 days before the test. I used an online review that i paid $150. I don't recommend doing this. Saunders is your best bet for that. If you feel that you need more. I did get an Nclex Board review seminar Book through the California School of health sciences that helped me out a little bit. I got it through http://www.hprovider.com. It's a 100 for the book. See if you can get just the books without doing the online review. Well i hope that i could be of some help to you. Good luck on your test.

I just wanted to share with everyone the not so smart clinical teachers that my school hired. One day in clinicals i had a patient that had a chest tube. Naturally the teacher wanted to have all of the students see what it looked like. Well as she brought all 18 of us into this poor pt's room. She asks him if it is alright to take a look at his chest tube. So he was nice enough to agree. So she starts out by showing us what it looked like. Then she began to tell us about the constant suctioning container that is contected to it. She tells us "never turn the suction all the way up" (as she is turning it all the way up) "because this will suck up his lungs right into the tube" (remember the patient is right there with us while she is telling us this) You should have seen the look on his face when he told her to "turn the suction machine down then cause i would like to keep my lungs where they are" The same teacher told us to insert the suppository into the rectum with the flat side going in. The round part of the tip was the side you push it in with. Here you hold the cap while i stick the needle in. (yeah i almost got a failing grade because i refused to do this)
