  1. Hey everyone! I had a quick question for those already in the program or that may know more about it than I do. Back story: My family and I will be moving to Charlottesville for the program, and my husband will be commuting from Charlottesville to Richmond daily for his job. Our son starts Kindergarten in the Fall and will be going to some type of after-school program, but we're trying to work out logistics and our ideal option would be that I be able to pick him up around 5-6 during the week. Those of you that have families, what is your typical schedule like during the day? What time do your classes end? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!
  2. I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I got the same email! I really hope this means what I think it means!!!!! :)
  4. Kaitlyn, My birthday is the 22nd! haha so at least we're in the same boat!! Glad your interview went well--praying for all of you! :)
  5. Thank you! Yeah, I thought they were only sending them out on Fridays too, but I guess what actually happens is that you get the email on Thursday and call them back to pick your time on Friday morning.
  6. I just got my interview email!!! I'm so excited I'm practically jumping out of my skin!
  7. I was just offered a PCT job on the same type of floor at my local hospital!! :) I'd love to hear some insight into this type of work. I'm on a floor with 24 beds, and I'll be assigned either 8 or 12 patients, depending on how many other PCTs are on that shift.
  8. ---- I was just offered a Patient Care Tech position at my local hospital, and I would like that to be taken into consideration with my application. What would you recommend to be the best way to let the admissions committee know?
  9. I have been checking my application status compulsively, and my current status says "under committee review." Does this mean that they are currently actively looking into my application, or do all applications say that once they start the review process?
  10. Thank you!! I have had my app submitted for a couple weeks now and the waiting is already making me crazy! lol You mentioned previously that there are a ton of parents in the program--I would love to hear some more about their experiences because we have a 4 year old son who enters kindergarten next fall.
  11. Keepupwithkaitlyn --- I was at the same info session!! I had a wonderful time there with my husband, and I love the campus so much! I'm in the middle of writing my essays now. I just finished my first one, hope it sounds okay!
  12. I also forgot to mention that I have been the daytime caregiver (in an official capacity) for my mentally handicapped brother for over 3 years.
  13. Hi everyone! I was hoping I could get a little advice about UVA's CNL program. This looks like an excellent program and I will be applying for a May 2014 start date (deadline is Oct 1). I'm basically putting all my eggs in one basket with this one, but I have fallen in love with the school and the program! Here are my current stats: - Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Liberty University (May 2013) with a BS in Healthcare Management. (3.7 GPA) - I have volunteered at the local hospital both at the information desk and as a patient representative in the emergency department. The info desk was 1 day per week, and the ED was 1 day every other week--would have liked every week for that one, but demand was high for this position. My volunteer experience is not as extensive as I'd like, especially since I've had to take time off for my CNA class, but I plan on resuming it upon completion. - I'm currently in the last week of a CNA program, where it seems very likely I will be nominated class valedictorian (I was surprised they even practiced that, but it is what it is I guess :)). - I satisfy all pre-req requirements except for A&P 1&2, which I intend to complete over the summer. - Once I pass state boards for my CNA licensure, I plan on getting a limbo job mostly for clinical experience while I work my regular job (mostly to save money for school since I have a husband and a young son as well). I guess what I'd like to know is what anyone's experience has been like with UVA, what their stats were like, and what the interview is like (from what I understand, its just a short phone interview, but I'd like to know what typically gets asked, etc). I'd appreciate any insight anyone has on the subject!!
