UIC nursing school
Hi murse1293, Sorry for taking me so long to reply. I haven't checked this page since I've got admitted to UIC. You know what I did? I actually replied to NIU that I accept my admission a day before the deadline. The reason why I did so is because it's been two weeks already and I haven't received the official admission package. So I wanted to play it safe. However, as soon I get the package from UIC, I'm going to call NIU and let them know about my choice. It won't harm anyone because I chose the very last day available for orientation, so they will have time to offer my seat to the next wait listed student. I thought of them as well I'm sure I'll bring some joy to one of those wait listed students. At least that's all I can do. What about you? What did you do about your admission at NIU?

I also got admitted! I got the email at around 4pm. Although my plan B was in place, I'm going to stick with my plan A, UIC! Congrats to all my future classmates and I'm looking forward to meeting you all in the fall! :)

Not me...in fact, when I filled out the application I could only check a single box (either Chicago campus or Urbana). Of course, I chose Chicago 'cause I live in the city. Could you let us know what is the sender's name in the email from UIC, please? I asked because the email for interview came from one of the nursing advisors. Thanks and congrats:up:

Hi Arlene, I'm pretty sure that all of us who went to the interview will receive an answer whether positive or negative. You will find out sooner or later, but keep in mind there is still plenty of time until April 30...that would be the latest you could hear back from them...

Well, they said between April 15th and April 30...I don't expect to hear back from them today...I know we're all anxious to find out, but there's not much left to do now

I don't know about living on campus or commuting. Honestly, I've been there twice and it took me 1 hour and 1/2 to drive there and another hour and a half to get back home. I have to weigh my options very well before making a decision. I could spend the commuting time listening to lecture recordings or things like this...but it would probably be exhausting at some point. But, on the other hand, I don't know if I would still be able to live in dorms...I've done that before in my country...I loved it, but I was right after high-school and I was happy that my parents could't control me physically I did my job as a student though w/out being controlled by them and it all worked out well. Now, I'm 27 and I'm more mature, so I don't know if I could live on campus anymore...but this could be another option as I could return home for the weekends. I'm not bumped by the fact that the program lasts 2.5 years...I just want to make sure the information settles well in my head, so that I can pass the NCLEX from the 1st time. But enough about me...what about you?

I did get the letter. Today! In fact, when I saw the mailman I asked him to check what he's got for me;)...I grabbed the letter, I went upstairs, and there was the big news, in that small white envelope...which has made my day:)! We're classmates...if we choose to go to NIU

UIC nursing school
Congrats!!! When are you suppose to start at NIU? Fall or Spring?

UIC nursing school
UIC is my 1st choice, but I applied to NIU as a back up plan. I love how professional they are at NIU. The program is tough, but students feel well prepared for the NCLEX. However, I know that UIC is #1 nursing school in IL.... I also like one of the interviewer at UIC, plus UIC is in the city, which is where I live. She looked so friendly and was very nice with us. I even researched about her and the students absolutely love her. Tough call right now....but I can't make plans if I haven't received an answer from them yet.
