  1. Thanks for input ladies :) I guess I didn't have a good clinical in L&D during school. Only there one day... so maybe I will shadow there too. Congrats on the MB job crazy&cuteRN... Very exciting. Keep us posted on how you like it!
  2. Congrats!!! I started as a new grad in the ED also.. Been there for about a year. It is stressful but you will learn as you go. Brush up on STEMI's, Strokes , Hyper/Hypo glycemia, and sepsis... Just some of the major things. Tons of stuff you will pick up on the way. Good luck!
  3. Hello all! I started out in a busy ER almost a year ago as a new grad. I have thrived and have been told by managers and coworkers that I am doing a great job. They have even moved me to the trauma rooms. However, to be honest... I am not happy. My coworkers are amazing and I do like the ER ( fast turnover with patients, exciting)... but I am stressed all the time. Its hard to explain but I just know I can't stay in the ER forever . I have a 2 year contract with my department and I plan on honoring it.... & I know another year experience will help with future opportunities. I'm very interested in mother/baby. As a tech in nursing school I would float to this unit and was always happy and excited when I was working there. Do you know of any ER nurses that have made the switch? I would appreciate any input :)
