New nurse here on a busy med surg floor. What medications would you not give together?? Such as sleeping meds, anxiety meds, pain meds...etc. also, what nursing parameters do you rountinely follow when it comes to blood pressure and holding a no medication? Or holding other meds? Thanks in advance. Everyone is always so willing to give novice nurses advice, I love this site!!

One weekend as a nurse and I feel like quitting!
I started my new job this weekend. Night shift on a med surg floor.First two nights were a breeze. First night I was helping the cna. Second I had one patient that I was in charge of with supervision of my preceptor of coorifice. He had 5 PO meds and slept the rest of the night. The third night my patient was more complicated. Lots of IV meds amount other things. The meds had me feeling a little overwhelmed and while I was doing her admission charting the docs come in and start asking me all kinds of questions. Needless to say I directed all this to my preceptor. But I felt so dumb. I went to the bathroom and cried and thought to myself I just don't know if I am smart enough to be a nurse. Am I going to be able to pick up on things that change with my patients condition and things I need to report to the doctor? After so much school and clinicals and the nclex, am I really cut out to be a nurse? I know it's only been a few days and everyone feels like this. Anyone have any advice?

New Rn, can I do this?
Graduated in May, took some time off with my new baby, took my nclex last month, start my orientation in a few weeks for a rn position on a med surg floor. The problem is is that I'm feeling very anxious which I know al new nurses feel. I am afraid I've forgotten stuff I learned in nursing school. I know that I will not be expected to necessarily know everything but I am afraid I won't know the basic things that I should know. Any advice for a new nurse? What are some things I should freshen up on before starting? I don't want to be that nurse that is asked a question by another nurse or patient and doesn't have an answer! I know experience will be the best teacher, but I don't want to be incompetent.

Got good pop up post 72 hours
I have heard of the pvt being wrong for those that have gotten the bad pop up but I have never heard of anyone getting the good pop up and then failing. It worked for me, I tested about a week ago and done the pvt with good pop up and found out I passed about 4 days later. Congrats!

Please HELP
That is a lot of money! I think you should look into other options. NRSNG.com has a wonderful program with a lot of good content review videos. It was less than $50 a month. Taking my own notes while watching the videos really helped me. Good luck!!!

NCLEX RN Mastery scores vs pass/fail on NCLEX
Also, don't be discouraged about getting lower scores than you would like. I've heard from many that Nclex is designed for people to pass/fail at 50%. They don't expect us to know everything, just enough to be considered a safe nurse.

NCLEX RN Mastery scores vs pass/fail on NCLEX
My average was 52%. 50's-60's on all the tests. I passed nclex first attempt with 75 questions. Nclex mastery app really helped me. The questions are similar to the nclex questions and they really made me think. Good luck on your test!!

Failed NCLEX twice need advice
You shouldn't be ashamed or doubting yourself, you made it though nursing school! That is beyond tough!! Everyone is different, what learning style works best for you? For me, the more times I saw or listened to it the more I remembered it. So I done some review videos (NRSNG.com) and took my own notes on them. I done nclex questions every day (nclex mastery app) and took notes on the rationales that I either got wrong or wasn't very familiar with, I also read the 38 page study guide that floats around on here (it's really good)...after I done all this I read my nktes out loud and recorded myself on my phone (sounds silly I know). Every day I would read only my notebook full of notes, the study guide, listen to my notes once or twice, and do some questions. Repetiveness was what worked for me. In the beginning I tried using too many resources to study with and realized that it overwhelmed me. Anxiety could be a major part of your problem too. It's so easy to get in your own head with things like this and convince yourself your a failure before you've even failed. Research some techniques to help you and always think positive. You can do this!!! You are smart!!! Lots of people couldn't even get into nursing school and even more couldn't make it through it! Good luck to you!!

Don't want to be the annoying one to ask but....
I was in your same position just this morning! I took my test Thursday and done the trick Friday (good pop up) but I had many doubts about it being right. So knowing I wouldn't find out my result until today, I obessesively researched the Pearson vue trick and if anyone got the good pop up and still failed. I looked on many posts on here and on other forums too and what I found was that 99% it is right when you get the good pop up!!! Spend time with you daughter and TRY to relax. I say try because for me it was impossible no matter how many stories I read of the trick being accurate! You passed! Be excited!!

Is this the good pop up?
- For those who have taken NCLEX RN
Yes finally!!! lol it was a very lonnnggg 4 days!!!! í ½í¸Š- PVT IS DEAD! Don't try the "new" trick
Wanted to post an update! I done the PVT with a pre paid debit that had $0 dollars on it. I got the good pop up and found out this morning that I passed. I don't think it matters what kind of card you use because if you passed then it won't go to the point of charging or declining. Just my experience!- Pearson Vue Trick
