    I am an lpn an i thought long term care/nursing home was my only route also. When i graduated in 2009 I was hired at a pediatric critcal care home health agency. I had no experience although they trained me and certified me on usage of a mechanical vent and etc. Starting salary was 48,000. I loved that job but they had no healthcare insurance. Now i currently work in corrections which has the best insurance an less work. Right now im currently in school to finish off my bsn.
