Yes I am a first time traveler but 6 years nursing experience. I guess that doesn't matter though. And no they all have more housing allowance and a higher hourly rate. In the end it's all an experience. I guess it's not the end of the world things could be worse. But thanks those are some good things to consider and I appreciate the response. I will definitely look into it. I guess the first assignment is always a learning experience. :)

Has anyone worked with American traveler? I am on a 13 week assignment with them and found out that every other travel nurse working at the same hospital and same unit as me is making on average 300-400$ more a week then me. Has anyone had any experiences with them?

Hey does anyone know of any apartment buildings that are fully furnished in either Fort Worth or North Richland Hills? It is tough to find a nice fully furnished place. I accepted a travel contract for 13 weeks at North Hills hospital. Any suggestions would be great. I may go with housing from my recruiter but it is a bit far from the hospital. Thanks
  5. Ok thanks everyone i will look for apartments in other areas close by. I don't want to drive 40 min everyday. As far as snow, if it snows a few times that is ok. It's already snowed here several times and i am used to driving in snow. But was def hoping to get away from that!
  6. Thanks for your suggestions cause I don't know Texas at all. The guy who interviewed me recommended that I get an apartment more north and said it would be about a 30-40 minute drive everyday. So I am not sure what is better. Being able to walk to work or live in a better area. I guess I will have to do research. If you have any advice that would be great. Thx:)
  7. Hey I just had an interview for North Hills hospital. It seems like a good hospital. Does anyone know where the best area would be to find an apartment? I am not from Texas and don't know the area at all. Thanks
  8. Good to know. Can I ask which State you are doing your travel nursing in? I am looking at Texas and New Mexico. I am a Canadian nurse and those were easier States for me to get a license in.
  9. I am also trying to get my first travel assignment. The hospital I spoke to gives you one day of computer orientation and only one day of orientation on the floor then you are expected to take a full patient load. Is one day of orientation on the ward a norm? I thought I would get at least one day and one night of orientation. I guess not. Any thoughts? I've been nursing for 5 years but mostly just on Ortho.
  10. I was just wondering if anyone has worked at Eastern Medical Centre in Roswell, New Mexico. I am a Canadian nurse and I am thinking about taking my first travel assignment there. Any advice?
