i dont think thats what was going on here. each year more and more people apply to texas techs nursing school so theyve had to change their admission process. lots of schools have an interview process, texas tech is just getting on board with that.

yes i am, i went to texas tech for my prerequisites. i was so happy that i didnt have to leave texas tech!

i got my acceptance letter into the lubbock campus today!!!!

I heard that about 80 people who were sent the email never got it (probably because it went to their junk mail) so they called a lot of people and resent those emails and extended the deadline. So i think its going to take even longer to get a response!!

I was the same way, my first year was not the best. I almost changed majors just because i didnt think i could get into a nursing school with my grades. Work on being well rounded. Do volunteer hours at a hospital, join clubs, or basically anything you can put on your resume so they can look at your application and see that you may not have the best grades, but you were involved in something. I did that, and i made straight A's the next year and got accepted into my #1 nursing school. Good Luck!

The video essay was brutal! i am pretty bad at speaking under pressure like that so it took me so many attempts before i was okay with the one i sent in!

I got the same email from the lubbock campus to do the video essay. its kinda like a one way interview that you record yourself doing. it went to my junk mail, which was strange, but im so happy i got past the first round of cuts, congrats to the rest of you who recieved the same email!! this will definetly weed out the people who just applied to texas tech because it was on the list on NursingCAS, they wont want to put in the effort to do this, and since its kinda late in the game for emails, some people probably have acceptance letters into the school they want to go to. good luck!

I got accepted into covenant school of nursing!!! i literally cried i was so happy, and i made the first round of cuts for texas tech! they sent a group of applicants an email about the next step for us in admissions, and its an online interview thing and from that they will accept or deny from that group! im doing my interview tomorrow!

I got accepted into one of my top schools (although its not in lubbock, its only 2 hours away) Patty Hanks Shelton nursing school. So the pressure is off a little. Im still going crazy waiting for Texas tech to get back with the rest of us! And covenant will send emails april 5, two more days. i dont know how much more my heart can take! haha @ameliagal, CONGRATS! how exciting! ive heard about some people getting there letters already, so lucky!

AHHH, I'm getting so impatient waiting for an email from texas tech! i applied to the lubbock, abilene, and odessa campus's. Ive heard of some people getting emails, I want them to send the rest out! Good luck to everyone else who is waiting!!

I just got an acceptance letter from Patty Hankins Shelton (located in Abilene, TX)! Has anyone heard anything about the school? I know that's the school that Abilene Christian, McMurray, and Hardin Simmons university usually feed into. I dont go to any of those three schools so I didnt think I even had a chance of getting in.

I applied to many schools so that I would have a better chance of getting into a program. I know what you mean, its so inconvienent that no two school's pre reqs are the same! If I don't get accepted into the school I went to for my pre reqs, then I will be taking summer classes to finish the other classes I would need!
