  1. I am with yall! I am so excited to finally get this done and like Neva907RN said, get a little peace ( this summer) before starting MSN. I just finished research and the co-op elective. Soooo glad for that to be done. Anyone heard what capstone is supposed to be like? Either way if we have made it through assessments, research, and managment.... we can take any class for 5 weeks! RAHHHH!!! Let's get er done! ( sorry way too excited to finally be done)
  2. Assessment is also hard, but every week you submit assessments one subjective and one objective of a person ( they recommend you use a spouse, child.... someone willing to be assessed thoroughly... I used my mom ) .... Health Assessment in my opinion is just as hard as research but not because you have to learn so much new information, but because it is VERY time consuming. my best advice for that class is follow everything exactly per rubric. EXACTLY per rubric. If you do that, you'll be fine. You got this you're almost at the end. Kuddos to you, 27 years of experience. Really hats off to you!
  3. I'm going to have to agree with you, the assignment seems overwhelming at first. Once you start tackling it paragraph by paragraph its really not that bad. My suggestion to future researchers out there is if you're not really a pro with the APA formatting just start writing out the assignment and later format it. The first thing for sure is to find the research article and have the coach approve it, so don't wait last minute to start.( if you pick wrong type of article highest grade you can make is 55.... not ok in my book) Actually read the article so that its easier to write about it. Make use of all the resources they provide such as the module 4 discussion which allows you to run the PICO question by your peers and coach. If you're lucky the coach will let you know if you're on the right track. Go paragraph by paragraph don't jump around. Cite all your references and remember to put them in alphabetical order. I am also so tired from this week. I am taking this class plus the elective work experience, ( medical terminology was not available). I don't think I want to even look at BB until another day or two. Just praying what I submitted was enough for a good grade.
  4. I would have to agree with windynurse. The other classes definitely prepare you better for this course. It's true no group work was required, hopefully it will stay the same in the future. I'd have to say so far the hardest week has been this one ( week 4). If you stay on top of everything the first weeks, it'll make it easier towards the end. It is still time consuming as most of the other courses in the program are, but just like the other classes it's not impossible. I am near the end missing only capstone, ( assuming and God willing I pass this class) and the hardest three for me were Health assessment, research, and leadership and management. The first two I mentioned I would take alone. Not that they are impossible to pair up with other classes, but you will be very stressed if you do. These classes require you to pay close attention to detail in order to obtain good grades. How are yall feeling with the assignment due this week. I started working on it , changed my article then I decided to email my coach just to make sure the article is ok to work with. I'm freaking out a little bit because there's so many little things here and there I really want to do well in this part.
  5. Oh I completely agree, 2 chances at the quizzes would be awesome. I still can't believe I did better on my first critique .. how does one manage to do that? Oh I know how... we don't know what we did wrong in the first place!! Second research critique is easier so far for me, probably because I am more familiar with the article. I am really really really nervous about the quiz. She mentioned it wont be available until Friday 13th, but what is the deadline to take it? Just Friday? Or do they at least give us until saturday or sunday to cram in as much as possible. At this point I don't really think it'll make a huge difference, but still it would be nice to know.
  6. just an update from research. The course is no longer designed to be completed as a group activity. All assignments are your responsibility only! Yay!!! Not having to work with other people and depending on them for my grade is a huge plus. Again, none of the course is designed to be done in a group, ever.
  7. I took the second one and did worse!! I actually had made a B on the first attempt haha. Woah! But i still have no idea what I got wrong. What worries me about the quizzes is there is so much material. they seem to focus on little random phrases here and there in the text book. B's get degrees. Just wanna get a B and carry on to Captsone. Thanks for the encouragement. What you did seem like a smart move, i was just so anxious about it I worked myself up over it. Praying i do better on second one. Thankfully they take the highest grade so my attempt 1 grade stayed. Phewwwww! Week 3 here we come.
  8. by second attempt i meant to a article critiique quiz , hopefully i wont have to take this class again
  9. I'm totally not liking research. It would be nice if after our second attempt we could at least know what we got wrong... first classes in the program i wanted to get all A's... now I just want to pass and get on to the next course. Someone tell me this is doable.
  10. i took legacy of the family and they are still making me take another elective so i am taking N3300 . I am so confused about that part. So i'll have to take N4300 too!!!!????
  11. Hello! I too am enrolled in Research 2/23 /15 and I'm also taking Cooperative nursing work experience. I hope I didn't take on too much. So glad these groups exist so we can all at least vent and discuss our ideas on the class. These two are my final courses then capstone. Ah Good luck everyone :)
  12. Final is time consuming. I advise everyone read over the chapters some before taking it. I thought I had done bad on it but I didn't . Goodness gracious . Done . Still haven't gotten grade for comprehensive summary.
  13. Finally got grade back! I'm goin to turn in paper tonight and then just taking final on Saturday when I'm off and able to just sit in front of computer and focus. So ready for this class to be over. I just have statistics , research and capstone left..... Has anyone taken stats with uta ? If so, what did y'all think?
  14. Also the final is 2 hours is this correct ? How many questions ?
