  1. Thank you for your sweet well wishes. I will absolutely say a prayer for you! I think that 1 month is a perfect amount of time - review the material for a week perhaps, and then just do tons of questions. I forgot to mention earlier that you should study infection control questions, particularly what precautions are required for particular diseases. These questions were plentiful on the exam. Best of luck!
  2. Hi - I'm sorry that you have been having trouble creating a study schedule. It sounds like you are so dedicated, and such a hard worker. Try and stay positive, because you will pass the NCLEX-RN! I graduated in August and started studying 3 weeks before my test date (9/19). I studied most days (with the exception of weekends), for many hours (because I only had 3 weeks, I had to make the most of my time). The first week I reviewed all content from the HESI Comprehensive book (its smaller, and has a green color) - this book gave a simple review of all NCLEX-RN content. While it does not cover any particular disease in depth, it is an excellent content review. Once I completed this book, I felt ready to start practice questions. I used Saunders Q&A for one week - this book is excellent. It contains many alternative response questions, which as you know are common on the NCLEX. I then used Lippincot Q&A review during my last week of studying, which I found to be a difficult book. Quite honestly, the material and questions were very complicated and I think this book made me more nervous than anything else. I only had time to do the 6 comprehensive review tests in the end of the book, which were decent as they covered all material. I was nervous that I did not have enough time to prepare, but I was able to pass the exam with 75 questions. In short, I believe my brief content review followed by NCLEX style questions was very helpful. I highly recommend the Saunders Q&A book. Best of luck to you in your studies!
  3. hey all - I have been unable to log into my Rutgers email and was wondering if anyone could send me the list of books we need for this upcoming semester? My email is [email protected]. Thank you so much!
  4. thanks a million littledoe! I will be leaving for vacation tomorrow morning and will be out of the country until the 19th without internet access. Good luck to everyone at orientation tomorrow!!! Hope to see some of you at the alternate orientation on the 20th, and i'm looking forward to meeting everyone on the first day of classes :)
  5. Is the term bill really due the 17th? I've filled out the application for financial aid but I haven't received the term bill or any financial aid info yet
  6. Thanks for letting me know! I had been trying to contact anybody/everybody at the nursing school, but have had no luck so far, so I'm glad you posted the date. Looks like I will see you in Newark on the 20th!
  7. DPchonky - no luck at all on reinstating my net id. I have been in contact with the help desk but they couldn't help me because I am listed as an "alumni" and not a "student". Not sure what the problem is, but I am waiting to hear back from the nursing school about this.. little doe - how did you find out the alternate date for orientation is May 20th? I have been waiting to hear back from the school about this (bc I will be away on vacation this Friday), but I haven't heard anything yet. Thanks for letting me know :)
  8. hi all, I'm so glad that we have received more information on orientation, placement, our start date, etc. Class is right around the corner :) Rowan28 - Congrats!! DPchonky - no luck on reinstating my RU net id either. If its still an issue by Monday, I'm going to call and see what's going on. I'll keep you posted. Also, could someone who has the syllabi send me a copy? I need to take the Cultural Dimensions and Human Interactive Processes exams. My email is [email protected]. Thank you so much!
  9. Hey Littledoe and Dpchonky, you are both very welcome! Littledoe i will keep you posted on any developments for my meeting. Thus far, it isn't scheduled yet. Maybe we will both be able to go on the same day! DPchonky - I'm glad that you were able to confirm your acceptance. I'm still am not able to reinstate my net-id, but the help desk told me that within a few days of being officially entered into the computer system (once our offers were "Accepted"), we should be able to reinstate.
  10. Hi Littledoe, I have been in contact with the Dean about not being able to attend orientation, and she said I can make an appointment to meet with her beforehand in order to obtain info given out at orientation. So if you can't attend, I would do that as well :) To all former RU students, On our re-enrollment status page, there is no option to accept the offer/secure our seats...there is only the option to withdraw from the program. I had assumed that by not clicking on "withdraw", that we were automatically enrolled and that we would receive subsequent information about the program. However, after days of not hearing anything, I decided to call and find our for sure. I have been in contact with the undergraduate coordinator, and she has informed me that we still need to send her an email or call her to inform her that we would like to accept the offer. I just did so this morning. Because I can't provide names on this site, just search for her on this link: http://nursing.rutgers.edu/current-students/student-services/student-services-staff-contact-information. She is the "undergrad program coordinator". Hope this helps!!
  11. Hey DPchonky, Congrats! I'm also a RU alumni, so looks like we're in the same boat. On the re-enrollment status page, I didn't see anything to accept the offer or to pay an enrollment fee. Maybe it is waived for us? I also tried to reinstate my old RU net id, and am having the same issue so I think the registrar still needs time to update. Hopefully we will receive more info on how to proceed ASAP
  12. Thanks hopewellmom! I'm nervous bc I'll be on vacation from 5/10-5/17 so I'll miss orientation. I'm going to see if I can make an appointment beforehand to pick up any materials/important info from orientation.
  13. Forgot to add that I have to test out of HIPP and Cultural Dimensions! I'm looking to take care of this ASAP
  14. Congrats!! I'm from Ocean County, which is a bit of a hike but I'll be moving to New Brunswick around August
  15. you're very welcome. I'm looking forward to meeting you and all the other accelerated students @ orientation!
