  1. Haha thanks! That's really good to know. The other issue on my mind is that my husband and I want to start a family in the next couple years (we are very excited :) ) I'm not sure how feasible the after degree nursing program would be with a baby/toddler though.. And I know how important that first year of work is after school. I'm worried I may need to put my dream on hold a little while longer
  2. I guess its not CBL itself that's actually my biggest worry, but the less clinic hours compared to GMU. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for taking the time to reply.
  3. Oh no, I'm not liking what I'm seeing. I'm working on applying to the U of A after degree program and this thread is a little discouraging. GMU doesn't have an after degree program though.. Anyone have anything good to say about CBL? (which I had never heard of before now..). My background is in engineering so I'm really not sure how that style of learning will work for me. ETA my first degree is from the U of A. Any idea if that would transfer over to Calgary easily?

  5. Hi! New to the board! I'm considering making the scariest choice of my life and giving up my engineering career in order to go back to school to become a nurse. I could be back at university this spring taking my prereqs, which is a somewhat frightening but very exciting thought! I only need three classes to be able to submit my app for nursing school, but I haven't taken basic biology since high school. Would y'all recommend it as a refresher along with my prereqs? I'll be taking A & P and microbiology. Don't want to overload myself either, since I'm hoping to keep my job part time, and I have a husband and horse to take care of :) Thanks in advance!
