I had a patient that was confused and would not let you get near him for anything. I wasn't even able to do an assessment. He would yell at me "don't you come near me lady. Get up against the wall!" So, I had finally decided to slowly approach him with his medicines to see if he would take them. I handed him the cup with my hands visible, showing that I wasn't going to hurt him. He took the cup and was looking them over with suspicion when I stepped back, knocking into the shower chair which skidded across the floor. He jumped, effectively dumping his medicine and threw his hands over his chest, yelling and then pointing, "SHE SHOT ME! [insert son's name], do you see that gun! She shot me!" I never convinced him that I didn't.
