  1. I did the free shipping method and it took @4 bus days to deliver so not so bad at all.
  2. @melby Since -------------- sent us that email informing us of what's in the term one bundle I bought my books from Amazon and they offer paperback on some of them and it came out cheaper than bookstore. I also bought two from a girl that just went thru term one off Craigslist.
  3. Yes thank you so much for the advice and for reaching out to us.
  4. I got my shoes from that sketcher store on flamingo just past Maryland pkwy and I found my watch at Walmart.com for under 10 bucks. It's waterproof, and has the seconds.
  5. I haven't got mines yet so I am waiting too...I dont understand how they can run out when it's a term one bundle and there are only so many students that get accepted. Should be a simple calculation lol.
  6. Maybe we can start a discussion within this thread as well to talk about different grants, loans and scholarships that we can apply for to help ease some of these expenses. It's pretty expensive. I know I am struggling with getting all the required items and I am not looking forward to paying for books.
  7. I emailed --------------- abt the clinical placements and she said we won't find out until the end of August.
  8. Thank you @blueorchid for the advice. Wishing everyone the best.
  9. Hey melby they didn't tell me to bring my records but I will bring anyways just to be prepared. Better to be over prepared than under.
  10. I m currently in a BSN program at UNLV and would eventually like to become a Nurse Anesthetist. This requires at least one year experience as a critical care nurse. If I am reading the posts in this thread correctly...are you telling me it is possible to go straight from BSN with no experience (other than program clinicals) and become a critical care nurse???? If so what states, hospitals, etc are you all in. My anticipated graduation is December 2014.
  11. My letter of acceptance came today
  12. That's what they do exactly is call all those accepted then follow up with letters of acceptance or rejection. They should be done making calls by now.
  13. You still divide by the total units of 22 for the GPA calculation. And as far as the contract signing and orientation I believe they are one in the same session. However, I am sure we will find out everything we need to when we have our appts. The last said it'll be abt 2.5 hours long.
  14. My signing is also the 30th @9am see you there.
  15. Just got the call at 1:55pm....she said it would actually be about $250 for the uniform, background, and drug screen. She did not provide any info about the cutoff. So there is still hope for those waiting since my call barely came. And congrats to those accepted so far. And my prayers are still with those waiting as I was in the waiting group 5 minutes ago.
  16. Like I said earlier my points are 93.27 and my friend has 92.06 and neither of us have received a call. We have both complete all our prereqs as well. And according to the grades posted from the gentleman that got in our scores are above that threshold. Ill check back in tomorrow and see if there are any new posts or if I myself may have some good news.
  17. Thanks for the info. This gives is an idea of what the around about cutoff is. If this is the case and you got in with a class in progress and a second attempt class then that's awesome and according to your score and others posted in this forum I truly based on a stack ranking then many others should get their calls.
  18. Also curious as to know what is the initial of your last name in case they are callin in alphabetical order. Mines starts with 'S' and I have 93.27 points FOR SURE and I haven't received any calls, nor did I have any missed calls.
  19. I think we will hear something by either Friday the 5th or Monday the 8th bcus it seems like it takes them about a week to make "the calls." I think that's why they do the sessions in segments because the probably calculate the points and do stack rankings as they go so its not overwhelming.
  20. Also I just did my signing session for fall 2013 and I have 93.27 points which I think is an awesome score but it makes me nervous that 124 people applied for this upcoming term....anyhow I should hear something by 7/15.
  21. Hello all of those BSN Students that started this summer 2013. I am curious to know how your first semesters are going.
  22. I agree the program at UNLV is getting ridiculously competitive. They should maybe do 48 in the daytime and 48 in the evening or something along those lines. I have 93.27 points and if that's not enough to get in that seems close to crazy. Anyhow, only time will tell. Good luck to everyone and remember when one door closes another opens. Don't give up on your dreams and continue to pursue your goals. I am looking forward to see posts from those that get in soon.
  23. My friend just had her signing session and they said its 124 applicants....WOW!!! That's a pretty scary number.
  24. Sorry to hear that....just pray and try to keep an open mind!
  25. No....the reason being is being the two chem classes you see listed are now just one chem class (Chem 108) and nursing 299 is worth 3 units now. That's an old form. So the credit hours are as follows: Bio 223: 4 units Bio 224: 4 units Bio 251: 4 units Chem 108: 4 units Nurs 299: 3 units Math 120/124: 3 units So total 22 units
