Calling all Grand Canyon University Spring 2014 Hopefuls!!!
I haven't posted on here for a while, but I've been reading all of your comments, and the waiting feels like torture for me too I currently live in California with my parents, but they're moving to Tennessee in about a month. As a result, I'm packing up my things and (hopefully) temporarily moving with them, then moving to the Phoenix area in December if I'm accepted. Just like with you guys, there's a lot at stake right now for me, but I'm glad that we're in this together! I'll also have to take out loans (which kinda sucks), but it's beyond worth it to me. Becoming a nurse is my dream, and I know that I'll be able to get a job and pay them off after I graduate. I know the job market is tough for nursing, but I have friends who graduated with degrees in other fields years ago and are sill paying off their loans. Thankfully, GCU has pretty reasonable tuition in comparison to other private schools I've looked at. Hopefully we'll survive the next three weeks!

I'm also applying for Spring 2014 fast track :) I'm done with everything except Pathophysiology which will be done in 3 weeks. I have a good TEAS score and a decent prerequisite GPA, but I'm not super confident about my chances of getting in. I had to repeat classes in the early days, I'm applying as a first degree student, and I'm coming from out of state, but we'll see :) Good luck to you all, and hopefully most of us get in!

Taking the TEAS in 5 days
I just took the TEAS on Jan 26th :) I started studying right before Christmas, but I didn't study for about 2 weeks before the exam (except I did study for about 2 days before the exam). What section(s) are you struggling with? The post above me did a good job of breaking down each section for you. For me, when studying, i was most nervous about the math and science sections. Math is the one section you really can't guess at, so be sure you know basic algebra, percentages, fractions, etc. For other areas of life science/human biology, check out an AP Biology prep book from your local library. I glanced over it for two nights before the exam, and it really helped. Good luck, and it's totally doable if you're dedicated and remain calm during the exam!
